It is from a CS6 file and I opened it in CC. But I can't save it now and when I try to open a new file and copy and paste the info from the unsavable file, it won't let me save it there either. I also tried dragging pages into a new file. Nothing is working. I need this file. It's 20 pages long and I need to save it and be able to edit it for the next couple of weeks. Please help.

Excel/word graphics into indesign nightmare
Hello,
i'm having a hell of time trying to import excel/word(embedded excel with anotations) charts into indesign(like barcharts, pie charts, etc).
They get pasted as an image(when the original is part vector, part image, part text) always with random sizes that when i resize them to fit the page text and graph always looks terrible due to what looks like a very crude linear scaling(haven't found any other option to use a proper lanczos resize/resample) thus graphs end up looking like crap really, and it's extremelly time consuming
so, how do you people do this?, do you maybe paste it into something intermediate that maintains proper text/graph metadata?, i mean, people that make technical boosk(or excel manuals maybe) in indesign how do they do them?!

Selection tool does not work in thunderbolt display.
I am on Macbook Air Yosemite 10. 10. 2 with an thunderbolt display extension.
Since couple days, the selection tool on InDesign works awkwardly.
For instance, when I select a text box to change the size by dragging one end, it does not go into a direction where I intended.
Also that action jumps, while if I do the same action on the laptop, it moves smoothly.
Do you know why?
I tried it on other Adobe products, but they all seem fine.

PC crash... getinng back an InDesign CS6 version, which was an upgrade from a CS3 product... looks like the serial number I have is for the initial CS3
I had InDesign CS3... which I upgraded in 2012 to CS6... two days ago my PC crashed... and I need to reload InDesign... I downloaded from Adobe.com InDesign CS6... but when entering my serial number, I got a message saying that my serial n° is valid but that there is no eligible product on my PC... I suspect that my serial n° is related to the initial C3 version I had bought... I guess that I could download CS3 from Adobe.com... and use my serial number... but how I do get back my CS6 upgrade? Thanks a million for any hlep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cannot open adobe indesign
I download the trial version of Adobe InDesign, after it downloaded, I tried opening the file but it says I do not have sufficient permissions to access the preference folders. How do I get the program open?

Exported PDF does not reflect the most recent changes to my inDesign document

InDesign menu bar Window > extensions missing
I have IDD 32 bit, 64 bit and 2014 installed on my PC. Using Windows 7 Professional. I have lost 'extensions' in the menu bar panel in both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions, but not the 2014 version. See attached screenshot. The extension I use will not work in 2014. Any advice/guidance or solution will be gratefully accepted!

Trouble importing Excel document into Indesign
Hi,
As part of my work, I have to create pricelists from Excel documents. The lists contain a mixture of old and new items, with the new items highlighted in bold. The lists are organised in numerical order, so these bold items are scattered throughout the list, with no regular pattern. It is essential that we keep this mixture of bold and regular items as this is the only way a customer can tell if an item is new.
In the past, we have done this document in Quark and the only way we could find to keep the bold formatting was to copy and paste the Excel info into a Word document and then import the Word document into Quark which is a bit cumbersome. Is anyone aware of a way to get the document straight from Excel to Indesign, whilst maintaining the text styles assigned in Excel?

Am I the only one who is getting a BSOD when trying to start InDesign after the 2014.2 update?
I have tried multiple times to start the application, only to have it crash my entire system just before it is fully loaded. I have seen it almost display the initial "What's New" screen, but that's it. I have tried opening it in safe mode, but that didn't help. And of course, getting through to actual Adobe tech support is nearly impossible.
Any suggestions before I uninstall ID and/or throw my computer against the wall?

Files becoming corrupt, parts of pages will not allow copy to show as if there were a text wrap there but there isn't anything there or on the master page either. Indesign CS3
I have tried exporting the files as InDesign Interchange files and then reopening as an Indesign file but it didn't help. I have searched for any object on the page that could be causing the problem but can't find anything. Worse, the problem seems to appear in new files that I created to replace previously corrupted files. It does not happen in all the files though.

Is there a limit to the number of pages in a spread?
Does ID limit the number of pages you can have in one spread? I have a long document with 400 or so pages of small size. For the purposes of on-screen reviewing of the work, I'd like to group them into spreads of 12 pages each. I'm using the pages panel, and I have it set to allow pages to shuffle. It works fine for the first 10 pages, but then it refuses to allow the 11th page to attach to spread. CS4.

Same colors appearing different in the same document
I have a document where I have filled different table cells with the same RGB color. However, they sometimes appear as two different shades, one darker than the other. I checked to be sure it was the same RGB color and it was, but it appears quite different both in InDesign and when I export it to pdf. Any idea why the same color is appearing differently in the same document?

Upgraded to most recent ID CC 2014 version and now my Export Options are missing
I'm on a Mac running 10.10.2 and when I hit EXPORT, I used to see Option for Interactive PDF, Print PDF, JPG etc. Since I installed the latest ID CC 2014 this option is just gone. I rebuilt my prefs and it didn't help, no option.

GREP for next paragraph
Hi
I have two paragraphs, one of which is stylized by a paragraph style. Is there a way to apply another paragraph to the next paragraph?
In Next Style, you have to type something to get the paragraph style applied. I just want that I have two paragraphs and I want both of them to have to different paragraphs style with with keyboard shortcut.

Window out of screen area
Lately in my three screen setup whenever I open a window to place a file, save as or to export from InDesign CC 2014, the resulting window has the top part out of my central monitor. The only way to get to the top of the import/export window is to change the screen resolution, making it smaller, move the window and than change the screen resolution once again. Yet this is such a waste of time. Does anyone have the same problem, and if yes has anyone solved it?
