Is it possible to keep an InDesign text box transparent unless it has content in it?
I'm wondering if there is some way to keep a text box transparent unless content is placed in it. For instance, if a master were to include a text box that assumes a black background when filled with text, but remain transparent if there isn't any content. (I'm pulling in data from a CSV file, and I'm trying to come up with a creative way to get around the lack of conditional formatting in InDesign.)

Header style page break in InDesign CC Problem
I am creating an EPUB book and I have a problem with page breaks.
I'm trying to force a page break to the Header paragraph style, but it's not working. More specifically, I choose to edit the paragraph style I want, in this case Header Style, then I choose Keep Options, then Start Paragraph: On Next Page. I also check the CSS exported code and it says page-break-before: always. However, when I export my EPUB there's NO page break before the header (I may have two headers in the same page)! How's this possible? Is there another solution?

cannot save any jpeg, tiff or other formats except document or template (suddenly today)
I created a file in InDesign and went back to it the next day and discovered that I only had two options for save or save as: InDesign CS5.5 document and InDesign CS5.5 template -- I am not able to save in any other file formats. I followed some online advice that said to hold down the ctrl + alt + shift key and when the dialog box came up chose to delete preferences-- it was said that would restore the original settings which did not happen. I am still only have two options (document of template) to save or save as. Any help is appreciated! Thank you

Kannada Language Text not displaying correctly in Indesign
Hi,
I am working on Indesign CS6, Windows operating system
I am having a problem in Indian language kannada, some of the letters are not correctly being shown in Indesign but the same thing in microsoft office 2007 is being shown correctly i have attached the sample documents for Indesign and office 2007 with the kannada language font.
These fonts works correctly in other text editors but not in indesign
Even I have selected the adobe world ready paragraph composer, but the result is same letters are displayed correctly

My images are gone after a keyboard shortcut but there are empty frames. How do I get them back?
Hi
I am new to InDesign (CS6) and I think I accidentally used a keyboard shortcut that I didn't intend to use. I think, not sure, it involved alt+shift+ctrl and a letter. I actually tried to paste in position with ctrl+alt+shift+v. Now all my images are gone and all that is left are empty frames (I think they're empty- they have crosses going through). Please help me.

Stroke exporting to PDF even though not visible in document
I have a document with a two-column layout. My master page has a stroke between the columns but some pages have text that spans both columns. For these pages, I've manually selected the stroke and adjusted it. Everything looks fine in InDesign, but when I export to a PDF, sometimes the stroke still appears for the entire length of the page. How do I fix this and get it to export properly?

Newbie to wedding invitation design
Hello, I am newly trying to educate myself on Adobe programs. Eventually I would like to design wedding stationary. I have seen tutorials that show invitations being made in Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign. For someone just starting out what is the most common interface to start building stationary? I want my stationary to have no images, just variety of font, and flourishes.
Any advice or where to find tutorials that would be beneficial would be appreciated.

Hyperlink in panel has a "red light" and says "URL is not available" for a URL that works.
I exported my PDF and the hyperlinks all work when viewed in Acrobat or a browser window (regardless of "green light" / "red light" status), but not in Preview. The "green lights" work in Preview, but nothing that has a "red light" is an active link in Preview. I can't figure out how to fix this issue.
Also, I've placed hyperlinks in master pages, but when exported to PDF, they don't work. Is there a quick fix for this besides unlinking the text/object from the master?

2 spreads with same page numbers
Hi everyone,
I'm having an issue with indesign: I have 2 spreads in the document with the same page numbers (even in the pages panel).
I created one new spread and placed it before the other.
This is a problem since the page numbering inherit this.
I tried to solve it myself, then I googled the problem, but i found nothing.
Anyone knows how to solve it?

nda only the problem adobe products i mean illustrator,indesign,photoshop,have this same problem but adobe page maker nda is coming properly please solve this problem becouse now i am using corel draw old virsion 12 that is working but coreldraw have some limitations but adobe producrts have anyother problems except nda letter probm so please solve this problem as soon as posible.

Image in Bridge
When I copy the image (I have been using this programme for about a year) it appears in the upper right hand corner in the ’ links’ menu but in the presentation page, it just shows up grey? I have obviously changed something in the ‘bridge’ area, but I cannot remember what I changed ‘metadata?’, I don’t know.

I have a file open in InDesign. I select search in 'bridge' and select the photo I want to include in Indesign. However, no matter what photo I choose is coming through as a total grey blank. What do I do? Should I look at the settings in Bridge?

"Adobe InDesign CC 2014 has stopped working"
Every time I go to open up InDesign, I get a message that says "Adobe InDesign CC 2014 has stopped working". The only option for me is to close it out. When I first installed InDesign, it ran just fine. After a couple days, I started getting this message upon startup. I can't even get into the program. I already tried uninstalling the program, restarting my laptop, and reinstalling it. I tried signing out/back in to Creative Cloud. I cannot figure out what is preventing the program from opening.
I have a Windows 8 HP laptop.

Error: Cannot crop to bleed box. Either the bleed box is not defined, or is empty.
Hi any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm getting this error when I attempt to place a picture into a frame. This has never happened to me before and I'm not sure if I hit a wrong button somewhere in the settings. Pretty much all I'm trying to do is bring in a PDF file into indesign. Like I said I've done this the same method thousands of times. I even went back and did it to a document I had already made and I got the same error.

Adobe CC 2014 does not work with Windows 8
InDesign CC 2014 does not work with Win 8. It crashes on launch, providing this error note.
I have uninstalled Indesign twice, as well the whole CC client once - no help. I am using InDesign from home office with Win 8, Asus PC which is fully up-to-date.
Please Adobe personnel, give me advice how to solve this problem?
