indesign cs6- interactive button problems
I have made a button with a show/hide function linked to a roll over/off function. I have all the buttons on the bottom layer yet for some reason the buttons appear through the content of the top layers which I have set to show when the mouse rolls over the button.
Also its only some buttons that show through even though the buttons have the same properties. I can't see any pattern to why some work ok and others don't. Can anyone help please.

Auto save for InDesign documents?
Is there a way to set InDesign to automatically save a document every 15 minutes (or some other time period) while it's being worked on? When we used Quark we had that option, but see nothing like it in InDesign.

Change character color according to a condition
Hi there,
I'm working on a list that contains color coded page numbers and letters (ie. A1...T17...Z8) and each of these need to be color coded according to the letter. The order is random so I want to be able to set either "Find/Change" or "Paragraph/Character Styles" to go through the list and apply a color. For instance, go through the list and all of the "z#" are red (z1, z2 ,z8 -->red, B1, B8, B5 -->Blue). Because they're not in order I would like to search the list, find the letter and change both the number and letter to a color I specify. Is this possible? Would I have to create a GREP style or something? Any help would be hugely appreciated, I'm not even sure where to begin. This seem like a macro that would be highly useful to people. If I could think of an if statement it would be something like ...Search the list --> if "A(and any number)" are present --> Change the color to "Whatever I specify"

Why are my master pages applied to pages displaying wrongly?
I am working on a book in InDesign. My master pages for the book pages have the name of the book on the left hand header and the sub-title on the right hand. The page number on both pages are in the outer corners. When I apply the spread to my book pages the left hand header is displayed on the right hand and the page number on the right is corner instead of the left. No matter what I try this keeps happening. I am using the trial version of InDesign CC. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

ms gothic (for japanese) disappears in pdf
Hallo!
I am working on a document in italian and japanese.
For the japanese I use the font "MS Gothic" and everythig is ok.
The problem is with the pdf: some people see the japanese letters, some others don't.
So i decided to send the font to those who couldn't see them,
but the font (that I use every day) is nowhere on my computer...
Suggestions?

What's Adobe's rationale?
We've crossed the era where PDFs were considered to be the best formats for printing. The world is now interacting with PDFs on the go where they are used to do things more than what hard copies of paper could do. With such rich interactivity happening around why wouldn't Adobe support animated gifs?

Selection tool in InDesign doesn't proportionally resize an object, object is distorted.
When I click the selection tool in InDesign, the object's frame is highlighted but the diagonal arrows that normally appear at the corners are no longer there. When I click shift/command and then try and drag the corner, the object distorts. Also, the object's "grabber" no longer appears in the middle of the frame. This just started to happen. What is the solution? Sounds like discarding preferences doesn't do the trick.

Webroot suppressing keyboard shortcuts in InDesign CC
InDesign keyboard shortcuts (alt-drag) on an object stops working when Real Time Thread Shield is active in Webroot Antivirus 2013 and later on MAC.
Product: InDesign CC and CC 2014
Steps:
1 Open Webroot Antivirus.
2 Go to Advanced settings.
3 Uncheck Secure keyboard entry mode.
4 Also from the fly out menu in Webroot icon, Click on Pause Secure Keyboard entry.
Try to open InDesign and all shortcuts should work.

GREP search for web address
\<(http|www)(.+)\>
I'm using this expression to search for web addresses in InDesign. It finds the addresses but selects all text after the address to the end of the paragraph. Using word boundaries produces the same result.
What am I doing wrong?

Preflight InDesign function/panel not work
I have updated Indesign to the last update of CC 2014 ITALIAN language, and the preflight (verifica preliminare) function, has stopped working from one day to another!
Both new documents and on documents from older versions of Creative Suite, Preflight panel, displays no error! yet I deliberately open documents with errors (ex. fonts not working or missing text inserted in text frames, etc. etc.)
What can I do to re-enable? Do I have to re-install InDesing?

HELP needed Indesign 2014 download lost its standard plug ins
Hi, I've just downloaded Indesign 2014 and find I don't have access privileges to the standard plug ins folder which comes with it. This means loads of bits don't work so I can't use Indesign. I'm on a monthly subscription to the Cloud so have all the correct updates/codes etc and all previous versions of Indesign (and everything else) work fine. Photoshop 2014 downloaded at the same time and has no problems. I'm on a macbook pro latest version of OS...I've uninstalled and re installed, re started my mac...no change I still have a no entry sign on my plug ins folder. Its not a third party one its the one that comes with Indesign as standard....Anyone got any ideas what to do next?

Dear all,
I need to create the VIRTUAL PDF PRINTER IN MY MAC.
Anybody knows How can I do??
I ve read that in the new versions this is not possible, and i ve to select "save as adobe pdf".
But ......
I have a problem for setting the file for printing from excel.
How can I generate a file CMYK from excel that maintains the selective colors when I open the same file in Acrobat Professional?!
Even if i select "save as adobe pdf", the file inherits the RGB (monitor) of the printer selection (in the new versions I can't select the Virtual PDF PRINTER and then an office one is automatically selected),
In Acrobat professional, if I select the black one the color doesn't disappear!

I've done a layout that is mostly text in InDesign, and the printer wants an Illustrator file. Can't seem to find a way to do a conversion from InDesign to Illustrator. Is there a way to do this? Thanks.

Booklet printing pages upside down
Please help!!!
I have wasted alot of time and paper today trying to figure out why this is happening!
When I go to print a booklet, some of the inside pages are printed upside down.
I have gone through every single setting in both Indesign and my printer settings and cannot workout wots going on!
When I go to print the booklet, the preview panel shows everything correct, but wot prints out is all over the place.
Please someone help before I pull my hair out! lol x

Automatically add object style, one for left page, other to right page.
Is there a way to automatically add object style to all pages in document, one for left page, other to right page.
Because I will nee to make 2 different object styles. It different on the indent location.
