I am working on an InDesign catalog project. I have come upon a right-handed page where the entire page has moved up about 1/4" next to the left sided page. I checked the master pages and they are fine. All the other pages in the document are okay as well. They are all aligned correctly.
Any idea how to correct this?
I created a 6.25 in wide doc in ID, exported it to PDF. PDF printed doc at 5.5 in wide. I sent PDF file to coworker, who printed it to several other printers in office: same wrong-sized results. Packaged and emailed original ID doc to our local printer for help, who opened my original ID file and--without making any changes to it--exported to PDF and got a perfect 6.25 size! She had no idea why it didn't convert properly on my software, since it worked perfectly for her.
So, it's my software, and it's a recurring problem: I've created other PDF docs in the last few months that printed incorrectly. That's professionally embarrassing, especially since I make quite a few PDF docs for work.
Can anyone give me a clue where to begin to fix this problem?

In Word I can select a number of words in a sentence or paragraph by holding the Shift key (PC, natch!) and then bold all of them at the same time, etc. Can't make this happen in inDesign - am I missing something simple?
Need to take a list like the one below and bold only the dates, using the bold version of the font I'm using - thereby actually changing fonts.

Recently upgraded to InDesign CC and now I’m unable to to use the command (Option Shift Command =) to quickly change selected type to subscript.
This command still works on my CS6 version. Comments?

I have been given the task of taking an InDesign layout from CS6, and building it in HTML/CSS. The challenging part is that it is required to be 1:1 pixel perfect. When I open it in Google Chrome–which is going to be the standard browser it’s opened in–the font raggs differently.
When I overlay a PNG of the HTML site, and a PNG from the InDesign file it is no where close to pixel-perfect. The text wrapping differently is the main issue at hand. I have tried every CSS hack possible to adjust letter-spacing and word-spacing, I've also explored Google Fonts to attempt to get a better match.
Does anyone have any experience with a similar ask? In CS6 you can’t specify type pixels, I’m not sure it would matter if you could, because it seems that InDesign is using it’s own conversion for what it considers a pixel.

Our Marketing Manager is using Adobe InDesign and exports her documents to PDF. These PDFs won't print in any of our printers in the office. It spools and then gets stuck and it actually makes our HP Coloured Laser Printer throw an error (error 79) and we'll have to restart the printer due to this error. We can print other documents and other PDFs in the printer so we know it's not a printer driver issue. In fact, we have isolated the problem to only PDFs exported from InDesign. Even if we create a blank document or add just text from InDesign and export it to PDF it still won't print. Really odd.
InDesign 6 crashes for no apparent reason. When I report crash and reopen, I get a window from Adobe offering a workaround or solution link that does not work. How can I resolve this?
I share files between my laptop and Desktop. Laptop is InDesign 8.0.2 and says it's the latest. Desktop is 9.1 (I haven't tried to update yet.) Please advise on the laptop - how do I update to 9.2 when CC thinks I have latest updates?

I have lots of different types of lines [or say strokes]
Dotted yellow lines
Dashed cyan lines
Dotted red lines
When i click the line or pen tool, indesign starts to draw the last use stroke type. e.g. say dotted red lines..
If i want to draw the same type of yellow dotted lines, i have to draw a line [the last used style] and then match properties.
Is there any way I can match the properties [and not manually set using stroke weight, dash style] of active line style that is being used so that I don't have to use eyedropper tool everytime I draw a new stroke of a previously used style?
As already discussed about this issue in adobe forum (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/792075). Still the issue hasn’t resolved.
We are getting the same issue in InDesign CS6.
The problem occurs only if we use ligatures in paragraphs, some of the letter pairs are joined into single glyphs in pdf. It happens due to font corrupt and also occurs in rare cases.

We are frequently clearing the font cache as well. Eventhough we are getting the same issue. In the above mentioned thread, they mentioned that deleting the InDesign preference could solve the issue. All the solutions are not a exact solution.
Anybody please advise how to resolve it permanently.

I'm fairly new to indesign and automated catalog creation. So I'm not fully aware of the possibilities of the software.
Recently my company has decided to renew their catalog. The goal is to create a catalog of approximatly 200 products with 3 pages of specifications each. The specifications of the 200 products are stored in a database and used to generate the 3 pages of specifications using Data merge/XML. At this moment I'm able to generate the catalog without any problems.
Because some of the information on the 3rd sheet is not always needed and can confuse some of our customers we wish te be able to hide it. Is there a possibility to generate a PDF catalog that can be slightly modified by the end-users? For example our products come with different options (6-9 )and we want to show only the image and specifications of the options our clients are interested in. My agents (non InDesign users) want to have a interactive catalog (PDF) in wich they can edit some specifications and then save it as a non-interactive catalog to send to their clients.
I have tried using object states, but this only reacts to my mouseover and click commands and won't stay in the desired state.

I am trying to downalod jpg file by using CFNetwork http request.But the request going to crash indesign on CFHTTPMessageCopySerializedMessage method.
The same things working fine on Mac 10.6.8.
Now ihave upgraded my Mac OS to 10.8 and Xcode is 4.6.
So please let me know if anybody have any idea or help regading this topic.

Dear all,
can anyone of you, GREP specialist, explain me the following behavior? I am not a GREP guru, but I understand the principles and I was able the create my own simple GREP question in InDesign (using CS6 on Win7), which worked perfectly until yesterday... It replaces space after one-sign words (prepositions, conjuctions) with non-breaking space:
Find: (\<\(?)([\l\u])(\s)
Replace: $1$2~S
I must repeat that I have used it for last two years and it have worked. But, starting on yesterday the replacing does not work correctly. Can I ask for explanation and solution of this?

Is there an existing shortcut for moving between the tabs of modal dialog boxes. For example Cmd+Opt+'B' brings up Cell Options dialog but that is actually the shortcut for the "Text" Panel how can I navigate (using keyboard keys) to the other Panels {"Strokes and Fills", "Rows and Columns", "Diagonal Lines"}.
Note:
I realise I can create shortcuts for the Table…> Cell Options…> Diagonal Lines items but these shortcuts will not work in the context of the Cell Options Modal Dialogue box.

I've been trying for a week to resize an InDesign book (I'm using CC, but also have CS4). Somewhere, somehow, this book changed from 5.5" x 8.5" to 7.5" x 9".
I just cannot figure out how to resize it down. If I resize the master pages, then the content is way off. If I resize the regular pages, then the content from the masters is way off. I've tried the Page Layout tool and the scaling or re-centering options. And I've tried the Liquid Layout tools.
Does anyone know a way to resize a document, and have all content scale accordingly?
