I'm fairly new to the game.
Wanted to get an idea on what is the going rate for pricing on brochures designed in InDesign. I'm a designer here in Dallas, and just starting out.
The project is for brochures for various machines for a plastic extrusion company here locally. There's going to be about 10-15 brochures, with tables, and pictures.

Is there a way to hyperlink an object (i.e. an arrow) in InDesign so it's function is just forward/backwards without having to specify a specific page?
In my TOC I have a 2-line subhead. Everything is fine except that the 2-line subhead has the same leading as the
single line subheads and headings in the TOC.
I want the 2-line subhead to have a different leading so that it can be easier to see that those 2 lines of text belong together.
So the rest of the TOC has 18pt leading, but I want the 2-line subhead to have, say, 16pt leading. How do I achieve that?

I have been using the trial for about 2 weeks. We work on files off a server at work, and our server went down today. This caused InDesign to crash and when I reopened it, it would no longer open any files. These are files I created using the trial and was just working on earlier today, and now I get the message "Cannot open the file xxxxx. Adobe Indesign may not support the file format, a plug-in that supports the file format may be missing, or the file may be open in another application."
I have already tried the following:
Restarted my computer
Restarted InDesign
Ran Creative Cloud updates
Uninstalled and reinstalled InDesign CC trial
Had a coworker open the files on his CC trial (worked fine)
Can anyone help?
I'm trying to export an InDesign file into a PDF to display it on my website. When the PDF is opened in Firefox, anywhere there was a drop shadow, it appeared as a flat gray box. I was able to get rid of this problem by playing with the export settings and changing the transparency flattener to High Resolution, but now there are white lines across the whole file.
It seems as though every image that was placed in the file has a bounding box with a white stroke. I understand that there are some unresolved issues with Firefox's PDF viewer, but I have to take into consideration clients who come to my website who only have Firefox as an option.
Any ideas on how to solve my white box issue???
When I zoom out using a shortcut or mouse it zooms to 5% but doesnt actually zoom out that far. It changes to the correct 5% when I drag my window to another monitor. Is there a fix for this?
I just ran the Adobe updater and downloaded the latest version (8.0.???). Someone sent me a file and it won't open because it says that it is a newer version? 9.1?
I thought that was why we had the CC, to have access to the latest versions of everything?
I'm getting a message on a print document that I'm working that reads "Document contains an invalid frame. Story text begins - Delete frame and associated story?" Regarless of my choice, ID becomes unresponsive. Anybody now what's going on/how to save it?
I added page numbers to my document throught the maaster page. However, the page numbers do not show on pages with a background.
How do I make them visible? How do i make them the top layer?

I am making a product catalog with 6500 products in it. I put al the images one by one but I need to place model names under every picture. I cannot create a master page because every page is different then each other. Can I place text frames which includes model number under every image using a database by a plugin?

I have an indesign document with logo in it that I want to set to overprint. I have the logo selected, but the overprint fill box in the attribues panel is greyed out and I cannot select it. How can I get the logo to be set to overprint?
My CS4 now fails to launch. I tried re-installing, without sucess. I get a small bar "essential". Any suggestions?
I am trying to use a Running Header (Paragraph Style) variable to display in the header of several sections in an InDesign file. It all works fine when viewed in InDesign. But when I export to PDF, the header in every section displays the title of the first section, not the current section. How can I fix this?

Is there were to make a style that makes all my text frames have certain round corners.
Specifically, I want only the top-left and top-right corners round.
I'm making a book, and I want all the first pages of the chapters to have rounded corners on the text.

Since I've updated to InDesign CC 9.2, ID crashes when attempting data merges. It's happened on both my Mac computer at work and my personal Mac laptop. I changed out my lists to make sure it wasn't something with my csv file and it still crashed.
I also opened a file that I had successfully merged before doing the update. It crashed when I attempted to create that merged document as well.
As a workaround to get my project done, I was able to make an IDML file from my CC file and open it in CS6 and successfully create my merged document from that.
Anybody else having this issue or know of any fixes or is it a wait for the next version and bug fixes thing?

I'm struggling with InDesign - I've got a nice circular object with text inside which I've set to cut the object so the background underneath is showing. Due to that I've applied inner and drop shadow on text/object, I can't separate the object from the text - the text must be typed and wrapped inside the object (as I've understood).
Problem - the text inside won't go until the edge, but just keeps flying down on the next line even though there is more than enough space (??). The first screenshot shows it when the words "at a" are written together, but as soon as you put a space between them it jumps to the next line and the whole text disappears.
I can't expand the text frame since the text frame IS the circle and the text frame options Inset spacing is generally zeroed out (third screenshot below).
Can anyone help me fit this text - which obviously has enough space - into the circle without messing up the nice cut-out effect with shadows? By the way the yellow object is an ellipse and behind it is a compound path with the same fill, both set to 90% opacity. The text is placed inside the basic ellipse, not the compound path.

I'm fairly new to InDesign btw. And, I have been looking for the answer before I started this topic.
Here is the problem I have:
Based on instructions from the client, I need to create a catalog where there are certain "patterns" and "classes" (PaCs).
I created a table (based on tutorials from Adobe and Lynda) and I (manually) changed all the PaCs names and placed provided pictures.
It turns out, that some PaCs are missing like on the picture below. They are simply not developed yet by the manufacturer.
The requirements are:
• create PaCs continuously, with no missing cells
• when the Pattern will be developed and assign to a certain Class, it should be placed in order (between 2 neighboring PaCs)
-so pretty much, moving everything again
This is a day of work or more to do this manually. I care about my client and I don't want to make him pay simply because I don't have required knowledge. These are just my work ethics.
Questions:
1. Is there any process to speed this up? Move the cells automatically without copying and pasting?
2. Is there any more proper way of doing that type of a catalog?

I have a scaled drawing from AutoCad that was saved as pdf and it is scaled. when I try to place it in InDesign it comes in the wrong scale. Does anyone know why this is happening?

I supposed to do a catalog for print and now the company changed they want only for the web.
When I do File>Document Setup>uncheck Facing Pages, it doesn't include the number of a page in evey odd page number.
This is what I have in Pages tab now.
1. Is is possible to export facing pages as a standard (1 page) PDF document?
2. Now to fix the numbering if I will use the Document Settup without Facing Pages?
