Clear pictures
I'm new to this stuff. Is there a website I can go to where there are clear non-pixelated pictures? I'm just playing around with stuff, but can't find a decent pic to use as a background because they are mostly from Google Images. Any suggestions? What resolutions should I be looking for?

Requested: Data Merge Glitch Solutions

I'm using data merge in InDesign cs5.5 but the merged file does not resemble the preview - if it generates at all. Most of the time InDesign closes unexpectedly trying to generate a preview. I did try skipping preview as suggested by related posts, to no success. From what I've read so far, data merge glitches are normal with InDesign but I still need to produce a working file. Any kind of solutions to such glitches would be greatly appreciated. I'd also like to attach the file I've done so far in case anyone wouldl like to review it, but I'm new to online forums (this being my first post) and as of now, can't figure out a simple way to go about it. So here are screen shots of the preview and the merged file instead. Please feel free to show me how to attach a file too, if so inclined. Thank you, and hope to hear from you soon.Â

Zoom / Scroll with Wacom intuos Pro

How can I setup the Wacom (Intuos Pro 5) so I can zoom / scroll into pages in Indesign CS6 on Windows 7? I have the Wacom's to middle button set to Pan/scroll. Is it possible to setup so when I hold alt on the keyboard and move the pen either up or down I can zoom in and down to zoom out of the page? And to scroll Indesign windows by holding the Wacoms middle button and moving up and down on the pad? See attached diagram for my Wacom Setup and what Im trying to achieve in red. Alternatively how do you have your Tablet setup to work effeciently in Indesign?

Plug-ins locked?
I received a CS5 file and got an error message when opening saying several plug-ins were missing.  I read that this particular error can occur when you're trying to open a file from a different version, but the file info says it's CS5. I've got the latest patches for indesign and extension manager, but when I look in extension manager it shows the plug ins with a lock beside it. How do I unlock those? Thanks!

Why won't ID open on my New Mac Pro?
I just got the New Mac Pro and I already own Adobe's CS5 Master Collection. I tried to install some of the apps, using a usb superdrive tonight. The apps I checked to install were Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Encore. After installation completed I opened and briefly ran each program successfully, except for InDesign, which fails to open, goes from bouncing in the dock to bringing up the logo/credit screen briefly, to crashing and generating a crash report to Apple with the associated crash info. I am running the current version of Mavericks(OS 10.9.2), and the Mac Pro is a 2013/14 3.5 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon E5 Processor with 64 GB 1867 MHz DDR3 ECC Memory, dual 27-inch Apple LED Cinema Displays(2560 x 1440), dual AMD FirePro D500 3072 MB graphics. The storage capacity on the SSD is 1TB(max), with approximately 599.61 avaliable. I could not find a similar issue or even any issue about InDesign crashing on any New Mac Pro, or for that matter any associated issue on these forums involving previous versions of the Creative Suite(using disc installation) prior to the inception of Adobe's Creative Cloud program, for comparison. In fact most of what I found assured me that there would be no issue with Mavericks with CS5, because even though it is no longer officially supported, in theory the legacy software should function in new architecture, as long as you are running Mavericks(the current OS). I will try and include a screenshot of the generated crash log to Apple down below.

InDesign CC interactive forms - PDF is blank when printed from any printer
Hello - I have created an interactive PDF form in InDesign CC, which appears to work perfectly. However, I cannot get it to print. It shows the information on the page in the print preview, but the page is completely blank when it prints to a printer.

I have double-checked that the ‘printable’ option is selected for all my buttons & it is saved as an interactive pdf. I have tried it on different printers, yet I still cannot figure out what’s going on. Even the logo or the title, which aren’t interactive, don’t print. The form is sent very nicely via e-mail, but we need to be able print out the filled in form on our end for our files.

Interestingly, when I save it as a regular PDF file, the information is there, however, all the interactive fields (text boxes and/or buttons) are missing.

Try to follow lessons in Classroom In A Book
Several times I have been unable to proceed through a lesson when the operation indicated in the book does not produce the indicated result when entered. When this occurs I cannot proceed further. Since the book is for InDesign CS5 and my program is version 5.5, could this be the source of the problem?

Images appear pixelated when brought into indesign/exported to pdf
When i drag a large image file into indesign it appears very pixelated and cannot figure out how to get the resolution better, it also looks even worse when i export the project to a pdf file. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Data jumbled and repeating in data merge
Hi everyone,
I'm creating a catalog, using data merge in InDesign CS5.5 for the first time. I'm using dummy data to start, naming the products with a naming convention Product 1, Product 2, etc.

Everything seemed to be working, but then I noticed that the merge is all jumbled, such as:
- Page 1 has Product 15 repeated, with the product description, price and other information from product 6. This repeats five times down the first page.
- Page 2 starts with Product name, price and number for Product 7, but the description for product 6.
- Continuing on page 2, everything seems one off. Product names mixed with data from the next product.
- Page 3-15 are the same as page 1, all Product 15 with the description for Product 6.

In short, this is very weird. I am saving the data in a CSV comma deliminated (also tried text with tab delineations.) I don't think there are any text breaks in the data, nor blanks. The odd thing is also that the preview looks perfect before I merge the document.

By the way, all numbers (except pupil price) relay the product number. For example, Product 1 has a price of $1.00, an item number of H1, and the description "This is product 1".

Easiest way to transfer long documents in InDesign to a different InDesign template
My company is currently rebranding all of our materials which consists of hundreds of thousands of long workbooks, guides and handouts. The original documents are all in InDesign but now we are moving everything over to a new template layout and I'm trying to find the least painful, and most quick way to do so.
