I am trying to create a HTML Signature from an Indesign document with styling and layout. I have Text and Images some of each are hyperlinks.
I am getting all the links to work and all the text formatting correctly but when I export using the HTML file extension all of the data just sits underneath each other and all the layout is disregarded. Is there something I am missing to make the items space out horizontally?
I'm working on a class listing for a conference program. There is an icon key with six 10 pt. images and each class uses anywhere from 2-4 images in its description. When finished the six images together will be likely used 100 times.
I'm assuming copy/paste will not insure quality. I should instead place the image, correct? If so, what is the most efficient way to place these images, considering time, document size and quality?

I guess this is something to do with my colour set up.
basically I am in the process of creating some simple one colour graphics in illustrator. And in illustrator they look just how I want nice and vibrant.
However once I place them into indesign they look dull and lifeless. This would not bother me except when I export to PDF from indeisgn that dull lifeless image is carried to the PDF.
If I PDF from illustrator it looks just how I want.
Frustratingly in the links panel of indesign that same great colour is there but I cannot for the life of me work out why in the document it looks dull and int he PDF too, I really need help on this as its for a tender which needs to be in by the end of the weekend.
To clarify I am not worried so much about absolute colour correction, i.e. calibrating screens etc, my problem is illustrator looks great, indesign looks dull.

I have a problem in pdf with the font "Estrangelo Talada". While i am select the character which applied this font in Adobe Indesign it is coming right to left as hebrew format but after export to pdf it will not coming as it is in indesign. It comes left to right as normal alphabets. But hebrew came perfect in pdf.
The output of the content with Talada font is meet the client expectation, but the functionality is missing (right to left).
I had used Adobe CC 2015 and also Middle East Version of Indesign 2017.
The options is used in CC 2015 is Word-Ready composer and ME i had used right to left conditions.
Could you please some one help me to solve this.

I am on Win7x64 Ultimate and InDesign CC v2017.1; 12.1.0.56 x64. This is the problem:
There are objects (text, pics, etc.) on all 3 layers. For some reason though, no matter what I mark, what I select, how I select it, or whatever I do, I simply cannot get the layers to expand/unfold and show their contents properly. If I click individually through the objects on my pages, then the respective layer does extend and show all its contents. However, when I clear my selection and just try to hit (unfold) the layer arrows (so as to see what each layer contains) I can at most expand one layer (as the image above shows). The other layers' contents won't show. The arrows do flip from pointing sideways to pointing down, but they simply do not reveal the layer's contents (as seen on the image above).
Tried toggling on and off the layer panel options 'Suppress Text Wrap When Layer is Hidden' / 'Ungroup/Paste Remembers Layers' / 'Small panel rows' but still nothing.
What could be could be causing this and how to fix it? All I need is that when I toggle the arrows they would expand and show the layer's contents.
For the first time in my life I am working on a 570 page long document. The .indd file I am working on is 97mb in size. All the text is black in colour and there are no shapes or graphics made in this file. It has 28 different master pages. 10 paragraph styles and consists of lots of externally linked images in jpeg and png format of filesize at the max of 3 mb. Most images are below 1mb in file size. These are the only non text item in my document.
I am working on my PC which is not connected to any network or something like that. All the linked images are placed in my hard drive.
When I add pages in the file, indesign hangs for 3-4 seconds and then adds pages.
There are no complex graphics in the indd file. But it takes sometimes 30 seconds to open up.
I wanted to confirm is this a normal behaviour of InDesign? I am using cc 2017 version and windows 10 -64 bit.
I bought this version several years ago, and need to upgrade it. How?? I keep getting pointed to Adobe Creative Cloud. Surely I must be able to just pay for the upgrade to V6?
I've recently had a job where in paragraphs I was asked to around to the next line any one, two or three letter words so these words weren't looking like they were out on their own (even if they fell shorter than any line above or below). Never have I been asked to do this before, and I mentioned this to a friend, and he said you can set this in a style sheet or paragraph setting.
Does anybody know anything about this? If so, could you enlighten me please?
BTW: I know you can set a minimum of how many letters fall at the end of a line when using hyphenation by not breaking words under a user defined amount, but I wasn't allowed to use hyphenation.

We are using Indesign 2017 on a Windows machine with i5-7500 and Intel HD Graphics (630).
Indesign frequently freezes when we toggle screen Windows (Word/Outlook/Windows Explorer).
To resolve the issue we have to end the Indesign process and restart Indesign .. very annoying.
Are there other users with the same problems? .. I found another discussions regarding Mac and turning of the GPU Performance.

Upon recent update to build 12.1.0.56...sometimes when resizing an image in a text box using open pointer and shift+option+command the image will become 50% (approx) transparent and I cannot change it back.
This appears to be a redraw / refresh issue. If I make a pdf, its ok. If I close and reopen the document, its back to normal.
I am on a late 2105 27" iMac with 5k Retina...and 16gb memory
I tried adjusting the live draw and the display performance, but it didn't help. This is sporadic too. Not every time
ideas?
I am creating a wall that will go up to block out a construction area for my place of business. The file I am working with is 8'x18' (large, I know). Each time I try to export it to PDF an error pops up reading "The document page size exceeds the page size range supported in PDF files." How do I adjust accordingly so that it doesn't resize my file?
How do I place interactive text fields and check boxes in a data merge layout? I would like to create a PDF with a text box that can be filled and a check box that can be checked in a listing produced by a data merge. I am able to make the interactive field and check box for each record but when I use it in my generated PDF the same data from one input or check fills all the other input fields in the document. For instance say I want 100 product items listed with an “I want to order this” check box for each one. I can put it in with the data merge records but in my PDF when I check it for one item it fills in for the entire listing. I just want it to be filled in for that one record only. Does anybody know how I can do this? Thanks in advance
InDesign starts up with a page of thumbnails with recent projects. When I click on any of them I get an error "Either the files does not exist (untrue)m you do not have permission (how could that be?), or the file may be in use by another application (nothing else is turned on).
Its frustrating because I can use this feature in Photoshop and I'd love to use it in InDesign. It has never worked since I installed OS X El Capitan and InDesign CC 2017.

I expect this is a total newbie question, but we've all got to start somewhere!
I've designed a document using facing pages/spreads in InDesign. The pages *should* all be A4 sized.
However, when I export to pdf and then print, the front and rear of the doc are printed A4 but the spreads are all printed A5/ two to a page.
How can I design a booklet in spreads, but keep all pages all the same size? Do I need to export as individual pages rather than in spreads? Or is this a printer settings thing?

We have recently become aware of an anomaly that was introduced with the Windows 10 Creators Update affecting fonts that are installed via “shortcut.”
Most fonts are either installed by the operating system or applications directly into the C:\Windows\Fonts directory and users can install fonts into that directory by right-clicking on a font and selecting “Install.” However, Windows also offers the option to install a font but keeping the font file itself in some other location in the file system. This option is invoked by right-clicking on the font file and selecting the “Install as Shortcut” option. (Many of us use such “Shortcut” installation of fonts as a means of disciplined housekeeping for large numbers of fonts and font families!)
The anomaly is that after powering up / rebooting your system, fonts installed via “Shortcut” won't appear either in the Fonts Control Panel or in applications' font lists.
By simply rebooting your system, those installed by “Shortcut” fonts will reappear in the Fonts Control Panel and the applications' font lists. Thus, if you have any such installed by “Shortcut" fonts, you will always need to do a second boot of your computer system until Microsoft fixes this nasty bug. Alternatively, you can uninstall those particular fonts and reinstall them via the normal “Install” which places the font files themselves in the C:\Windows\Fonts directory.
Important Note — This anomaly does NOT appear to affect Typekit font synchronization in any way!
Microsoft is aware of the problem, but we have no ETA for a fix. (The July 11 Windows 10 update does not fix the problem!)

I have a two image gallery, I created the Object states and assigned two buttons. The buttons work when exporting to Epub but not interactive pdf.
Did I miss something here?

Hey guys. I'm having a strange issue.
This is one of the pages of my file. I just packaged the file and now the Cyrillic font is showing up as missing (pink highlighted).
If I open the unpackaged document, it is fine. My preflight says everything is fine on both these documents. Any ideas? The file exports to pdf fine.
And the Document Fonts folder on the packaged version shows the Cyrillic font (Helvectica CY) as being packaged.
Also - I was the original creator of the document - it wasn't a problem with an inherited file from another source. The font is HelvecticaCY.dfont. Thanks!
I'm trying to do a data merge, I've selected my Data Source (a .csv file), but not all of the data fields (column headers) are showing up in the data merge box. Any ideas what I could be doing wrong?
In my German Version of Id I get this error message: Fehler Nr.1H. (Error Nr 1H).
This error appears when I try to publish.
I get asked to log out and log in again.
I did this twice without any solution.
My web works (proof, I can send this message), My CC icon has no blue sign, to not be connected.
