Hi All,

 

I'm working on an interactive PDF but when I export to PDF, most objects are missing from the first page. This includes text in text frames as well as an image in an image frame.

No idea where to start looking to resolve the issue.

My background is showing as well as 3 objects from the bottom of the page, so I've checked layers to make sure it's not something strange happening there, but looked fine (Background is all the way at the bottom) so not sure what could be wrong....

 

I've attached a screenshot. On the left is what is showing in the PDF and on the right is what InDesign is showing...

 

Any help is much appreciated! Thanks in advance.

I have to create a certificate for our suppliers about their quality standards. I want to design it with InDesign CC 2015.4. My question is: Is there a possibility to use some kind of mail merge array in InDesign such as Word or Excel ? How can I import the data from an Excel sheet in InDesign ? Thanks for your help.

Hi!

Anyone out there who knows how to place the whole sheet of pdf files in Indesign without cropping it - and also still maintain the transparancy?

I work with music sheets, and have designed the page size and margins in the music notation software that it fits directly into the Indesign document.

It is time saving to place the whole pdf sheet directly over the indesign sheet, instead of having to adjust and work with every pdf (hundreds of them) file.

Hi,

 

I've been having trouble with inDesign crashing while using the effects panel to make a gradient feather, or drop shadow etc. It's not happening every time I do this, but it is happening across a variety of different files, so I don't think it's a problem with a corrupt file. I've recently updated Creative Cloud and that's when the trouble started. I've had to delete the preferences a few times because of inDesign crashing on launch, but that seems to be ok now.

 

If anyone has any idea how to fix this it would be really appreciated as it's slowly driving me mad!

I have a strange problem. I have set up a preflight profile to only accept CMYK images in the document. So it's checking for RGB, SPOT, GRAYSCALE etc.

 

It's throwing up errors for spot, rgb but not for grayscale images??

 

Any ideas why when i've ticked the do not allow grayscale box?

I'm currently working on a book, 200 pages, 6x9 in, and I need to add more pages to the book. When I do that, InDesign sticks and I can't do anything but force quit it. I tried several times and it happens every time.

 

I'm using Adobe InDesign CC and I have a Macbook Pro (OS X El Capitan).

Hi all,

 

I've been working on a booklet that required different sized textboxes on each page. They all need to have the same colour scheme though, so I created MasterPages with the textboxes, assuming that I could override their size later on. All has been fine and dandy until now, when suddenly two of the textboxes keep reappearing even though I delete them. Even stranger: this only happen on the left page and only with those two items, all the other ones can be deleted/changed.

I have enabled override and they are not locked to the masterpage. I have also deleted my preferences - still no luck.

 

I've added a picture of what I'm talking about. The red arrow points at the box that can't be deleted/reappears. I moved the original frame by clicking cmd+shift+click to the position where the green arrow points to, but instead of the 'original' position being blank, the same yellow box remains.

 

I hope this makes sense, can anyone help please?

I've just downloaded the CC version of InDesign to my MacBook Pro but every time I launch it it crashes.

 

I'm running OSX 10.8.3, 8GB of ram, 8GB of disc space and I've tried trashing the prefs but it doesn't even make it to that dialog window. The UI appears and that's it boom! I've sent the crash log to Adobe but I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions or things to try to get it up and running?

Tras actualizar a InDesign CC 2015 no puedo abrir ventana de MiniBridge; cuando pulso [mayúscula]+[icono bridge] me abre la aplicación de escritorio del Creative Cloud pero no el minibridge. Uso entorno Mac.

¿Debo actualizar Indesign de nuevo?

After updating to InDesign CC 2015 I can not open window MiniBridge; when I click [shift] key + [bridge] icon, it opens the desktop Creative Cloud application but not the window Minibridge. I use Mac environment.

I must update Indesign again ?

In my Indesign document I made like this formatting approximately 30 images. When I will do package, in the links folder contain only original image. That manual fitting option image not exported. But I need the second one (Manual fitting image).

I want to create a basic iPhone/Android app that allows the user to simply see a list of Contacts with names and phone numbers.  It would be used internally for maybe 100 users. Is that worth the time and trouble?

 

I have enough Dreamweaver/Wordpress experience to make me dangerous, along with a rudimentary knowledge of HTML.

 

I need some direction - Is this something I can do with a CC app, or should I look into one of the online template services?

Hi,

 

I'm having problems when exporting PDFs using my presets in inDesign. I am trying to export low res pdfs (150dpi) and it generates a large PDF (about 11MB). In comparison the high res PDF (300dpi, crop/bleed marks) I generate is around 6.5MB, so there is definitely something wrong. At first it seemed to be an issue with the linked TIFF i had in the document so I copied the flat layer from the TIFF to a new TIFF and that seemed to fix the issue, however it is happening again with a completely different document.

 

I have tried resetting the preferences in both InDesign & Photoshop, and also uninstalling & reinstalling InDesign, Photoshop & Illustrator from CC but it hasn't had any effect. I have also tried doing the same export with the 2014 version of InDesign CC and the same thing is occurring. I have also deleted the PDF presets and set up a new one but that hasn't worked either.

 

I am working on a Mac OS X Yosemite, version 10.10.5, latest version of CC 2015.5, the issue seems to have started when i updated to this version.

 

Any help would be appreciated!

So Adobe still has their old CS6 plugin documentation page up -InDesign developer documentation | Adobe Developer Connection  - but it's outdated and only for CS6.

 

I am trying to find the plugin development documentation for CC14 (which we are running). Can't seem to find it anywhere.

 

Anyone know where this development documentation is at?

Has anyone else noticed that dragging out or repositioning an auto-size enabled frames (any of the options - width-only, height and width, height only, height and width [keep proportions]) on OSX produces wild flickering for a few seconds until the frame resettles into the correct position?

 

Only happened since the latest update and doesn't seem to happen on PC.

Every Adobe app (InDesign, Photoshop...) is stealing the focus from other application a several times. This behaviour is annoying as well as useless. How to stop this?

I have an MS Excel spreadsheet with 250 rows, each row containing 4 columns of data (typical Excel columns A, B C and D).

 

I need to import this into an InDesign table that will look like this:

So basically columns A, B and C end up all in one row, but column D ends up in a row below A, B and C, and column D spans across the full width of columns A,B, and C.

 

Is there a way to do this without having to do it manually?

Use find/change to make all m2 to appear with the 2 as superscript?

Hi all

 

I am trying to find a way to mass change all instances of 'm2' within a document to appear with the 2 as superscript to denote metres squared. I think this can be done using the Find/change tool but I can't work out how... any ideas?

Hey,

 

In my ToC I have listed two styles:

1 - ToC Page Heading

2 - ToC Table Heading

 

I also have my Table headers set up properly - so when a Table flows to a second page - the table headers appear in that second page as they should. The tables are large - and no avoiding the overflow. I think the principle is called "Threading Text" - but it works with tables also.

 

In the majority of instances - the set-up works perfectly.

 

HOWEVER when the table flows to a second page - the TocTable Header does not appear in the regenerated Table Of Contents.

 

For example, the ToC looks like this:

 

Electrical                            Page 6

Machine X - Y - Z               Page 6

 

Electrical                            Page 7

Electrical                              Page 8

 

When it SHOULD look like this:

 

Electrical                            Page 6

Machine X - Y - Z               Page 6

 

Electrical                              Page 7

Machine X - Y - Z                    Page 7

 

Electrical                             Page 8

Machine X - Y - Z               Page 8

 

Is this possible? I've looked at everything - and can't find any options.
