Hi,
When importing a Word document that has track changes activated, InDesign CC 2015.4 adds everything, including the deleted or modified text parts as they have been before the modification in word as well as the modified versions of these texts.
The workaround is to accept all tracked changes in word, before importing the document into InDesign.
Adobe might also integrate an option into the import dialog to avoid this without having to accept the changes before.

I have been working at this for a few days and I don't know what I'm missing. I have a document that has 8 pages. The pages are named C1, C2, C3, C4,...etc. How can I return the actual page names (C1) and not just the page numbers (1)? I am trying to export each page as a separate PDF with the page name included in the filename. Any help would be most welcomed.
So i have this file that I created as a template. It consist of 2 sizes and black and white for each (so it's 4 pgs). My process has been to export the doc as a pdf, then split the pages from Acrobat. Then remove the suffix from the split file and move it to a certain folders.
My question is there a way to have your pages export specifically to a folder as a pdf.
so lets assume the the filename is 123.indd
pg 1 would export to [folder-1] as filename 123.pdf
pg 2 would export to [folder-2] as filename 123.pdf
pg 3 would export to [folder-3] as filename 123.pdf
pg 4 would export to [folder-4] as filename 123.pdf
The reason i need to keep the filenames the name is for the link to folder option (which i use to handle quick changes from color to b&w.

For some reason InDesign won't let me create any object styles. When I go to create a new object style the New Object Style dialog box appears but when I click OK nothing appears in the object styles panel (it stays empty). I think this may be a bug. I'm using InDesign version CC (2015-the latest version). Any help would be welcome, thank you.

I've seen this question posted before, but not answered. Using "Reveal in Bridge" just brings Bridge to focus without revealing any files, the currently opened window just stays open. Reveal in Bridge from Mini-Bridge DOES work, however. Reveal in Finder works fine.
I've tried resetting preferences and clearing the image cache without success.

Every time I want to move ANY object in my file my working surface starts getting black and when I move the, for example, text around I can see my working surface.
I don't really know how to explain the issue I am experiencing so I added a screenshot.
I am working on my Macbook pro with macOS Sierra 10.12
I created a form in InDesign CC 2014. The form fields are text with 12 point font size and Multiline text attribute. I export the Interactive form to a PDF. Open the PDF in Acrobat XI. When I type in any of the form fields, the text is vertically centered in the form field and does not wrap around when I type more than one line's worth of words into the field.
I would like the text entry to start at the top of the field and fill down to the bottom. Also, I would like the input text to wrap around automatically.
Any advice?

I am getting very slow performance with InDesign 2015.4 after updating last night. When I scroll around a catalog file, a message at the very bottom next to the Preflight "No errors" shows "Reading [Image name]" comes up constantly and every time I go to a different page. This happens when the GPU is enabled and disabled. And for some reason, my drop shadow coordinates are way off. I'll disable and reapply the drop shadow and it looks fine until I go to another page and return to the page with the drop shadows and they reappear incorrectly, again.
I am on a late 2015 iMac, Retina 5K

Drop shadow Issue
A bit of background before I pose the question I'm here for.
In the InDesign document I'm working on I've set up a paragraph style containing purely GREP styles that a large number of other paragraph styles are based on, this means adding a GREP alters the rest of the styles, which so far is working for me.
I've hit a slight snag, I want to italicise 'c.' using grep but I have multiple different type weights, is there a way to set it to just change it to the italic version of whatever weight I'm using without having to break everything from the 'based on' and add individual GREP styles for each different typeface?
I'm having issues with exporting my InDesign file to PDF. When I export it, the entire image isn't getting exported. My InDesign file size is 1281 p by 216 p, but when it gets exported the dimensions are only 200 in by 36 in. Is there a size limit for how large of an image an can be exported to a PDF? I have a customer that needs their items printed in spot color, which is done online for a company with specific guidelines. They have their own color chart that has to be downloaded into InDesign. With the older version of InDesign the process was to take the logo into Photoshop and change it to a bit map which would then allow you to change the color in InDesign. I've just recently gotten the latest Adobe Cloud and It seems that I can no longer do that. Is there a different way to accomplish this?
I recently updated my InDesign to 11.2.0.99 Bulid and when using the Data Merge it will crash when doing the merge document. It does not matter how many records are generated it will crash before the merge document is created.
Did not have this problem with previous Build of InDesign.
I'm a beginner and have a question. How do I fix my page layout here?

I am shocked and terrified that the latest version of InDesign CC is not allowing me to drag an image from a folder onto an image in my layout and have it automatically swap. Please tell me I am doing something wrong. This is a critical feature. Help!!!!
InDesign is corrupting the file "C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Adobe\InDesign\Version 11.0\en_GB\Caches\InDesign SavedData" every time it closes causing InDesign to crash every time it is reopened. Can anyone please tell me what is the likely cause?

I'm in desperate need of help with this!
I'm creating a picture book. Have graphics placed from illustrator, and PNG files placed on top (The face is a PNG, and the rest of the illustrations are il).
When I export to pdf with a flattening preset, the result is a file where I can see the outlines of the graphics through the PNG face.
I'm sure it's a transparency issue, because if I save it as Acrobat 5 (PDF 1.4) It looks amazing. Also the flattener preview indicates that both the png and a large portion of the graphics are transparent. Even though, when I look in the Illustrator file, I see that it's not. I don't know what happened during the placing....
This also happens no matter what graphic file format I place. I've tried flattening it before placing, exporting the il to pdf and then placing. No difference.
I'm attaching two images to help explain. On the left you can see start from the cape "carved" into the face if you look closely, and on the right, you can see the door post, neck and back sleeve through the face.
Would be very happy for any good ideas!

I finally upgraded to the Creative Cloud version of InDesign and one feature is driving me crazy. When I hit the "Up Arrow" to move up anything it also controls the swatches and colors panel and changes the color of the box. Can anyone tell me how to disable this function? I already looked in Edit-->Keyboard Shortcuts and don't see this anywhere.

Hi, not been able to install update to InDesign CC 2015. Tried for a couple of days - nothing. Error code (U44M1P7) has no further information in it. Downloaded manual update as suggested on "Installation failed" error U44M1P7 with Adobe Creative Cloud or Adobe Creative Suite 6 updates
NOTHING! I'm incredibly fed up with Creative Cloud. I finally got through to someone via Chat but he kept on going on about billing, which is not the issue. InDesign and Photoshop (the only two programmes I use) crash EVERY TIME I open them. EVERY SINGLE TIME. And yet I can't get help from Adobe. It's a bit rich to ask for billing before offering help on a product that is not functioning.
Adobe, if you read this, I asked the guy on the Chat for the Customer Complaints Address, and he refused to provide it. Do think you can sort it out? I'm more than frustrated - my livelihood depends on this, and yet I lose hours upon hours with crashes and failed updates. Terrible service, terrible product.
In the latest update of InDesign my documents are not showing the images correct.
More specefic example:
InDesign has a feature where you can color a b/w image. But after the update InDesign only shows the image as black.
When I scroll, the image "flips" between black and the color, and as soon as I release the mouse, the image turns black again.
Houge problem, since I'm about to finish a very big job, where all the graphics are based on this feature. And it is so frustrating not to be able to see the correct preview.
Help, anyone???
Indesign 11.3.0.34 on Mac OS 10.10, Macbook Pro with lots of Disk space and RAM, no other apps running:
When I open Window > Interactive > Hyperlinks (to edit about 500 links in my document), I get very bad lag (spinny beachball for 10-20 seconds at a time) for every single tiny change I try to make to any aspect of any page element.
As soon as I close the Hyperlinks window the delay goes away. I can edit the links by using the dropdown menu, without the delays, but it's slow and requires many more actions.
This is new since the latest update.
