I need footnote in table. Normally it's common place for table because you have no space for describe colomns names. Looking like ID CS6 has not such ability. Such supa-dupa-ultra can't do it 
. Maybe I am laugh for nothing but "insert footnote" is inactive in table.

The file is incompatible with InDesign (Error code: 14)
Hi,
I am running OS X 10.8.2, MacMini late 2009, 6Gb RAM, 190 GB OS Partition with 89 Gb free, Adobe InDesign CS6. InDesign is genuine, it is a Cloud license.
I am getting this error for any file I try to open. Despite that each time I delete InDesign Recovery files, InDesign is opening but when I try to open any file I get this error.
The document I initially tried to open contains a library. Seems like I get this errors everytime a ddocument has a library atttached to it. Does that creates issues?
Any solution?

Prevent 1-2 letter words at end of lines?
Hello everybody! Just a simple question:
How do I use GREP styles to prevent 1 and 2 letter words at the end of lines? I haven't figured out yet how to do that...
Also, is there any good GREP resource to learn about expressions?

Edit > Start Dictation?
I just started using a Mac computer running 10.8 and it has a command for all applications, Edit > Start Dictation.
I got it to work flawlessly in MS Word, but when I click inside a text frame in ID CC, I get the first letter of the first word and then nothing else.
Something to write off or is there a secret?

ID CC crashes during import
Trying to place a Word file into ID CC. It crashes each time after briefly displaying the 'substituting fonts' dialog. I'm not looking forward to mucking around with several hundred font files, and we are a busy shop, so we're reverting to CS6 until Adobe comes up with a solution (not a workaround). At this point ID CC is completely useless to us.

InDesign crashes every time I try to write a text
I just installed InDesign CC on mac. opens without problems, but every time I try to use the tools text it crashes.

Strikethrough behind text
Is there any way to make strikethrough appear behind text instead of covering it?
I am trying to make highlight with the underline function such that one side of the highlight is curved, and the other is flat (see first screen shot).
It was suggested that I do this by making part of the highlight with underline, and part with strikethrough, and overlapping them. This seems to be a good solution except that strikethrough by default covers the text (see the next screen shot).
If I could make the strikethrough appear behind the text, this would work perfectly. Is this possible?

Create custom stroke style with different cap on each end
Is there any way to create a custom stroke style with a rounded cap on one end, and a butt cap on the other?
I want to use such a style with the underline function to highlight text with one rounded end and one flat end. (See the screen shot for what I mean.)

Why am I having a problem opening a CS4 document from my CS4? Says I need to upgrade plug-ins, but when I try to upload the latest plug0ins, I get a mesage that says I already have the latest upgrade.

CS6 In Design to Kindle question
I'm using the Export to Kindle for the first time. I had to paste pages of a word doc into InDesign for this one. it's 25 pages and had no problem doing the styling by hand. But I notice something as once I pasted all the text in and have it continue across all the pages I now wanted to separate each page by having a new set of text start on a certain page ( which I did ) But when I exported I still see the text just flowing until it runs oit of room.
I need to know how to put loaded cursor text on separate pages. Do I just copy the text for each page on another new page inside InDesign?

Font in CS4 doesn't work in CS6
I have a TrueType font that a friend made me a few years back. It's my favorite font and I use it frequently; however, I recently upgraded from CS4 to CS6 and the font doesn't work properly in CS6. It does show in the font menus, but now in CS6 it's sorted in a separate font category (along with the Arabic fonts at the bottom), and the sample in the font menu is now merely squares in place of characters. There is a Regular and Bold verison of the font and both have the same issue.
What changed in CS6, and does anyone know how I can edit the font to make it work with InDesign again? I know I can just pick a new commercial font, but I have such a back log of work that used that font I'd prefer to just fix the font. This is on a Mac, and FontBook validates the font just fine, other apps (including CS4 also work fine with it), I'm not using any font management software (I use FontBook merely for validating the font.)
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

How do I select a thick paper to print from Indesign? I have to go to the printer to select the thicker paper. I would like to select the paper from my computer in Indesign. Other programs allow this.

InDesign CC performance ...
Hello! I have upgraded on Mac and Windows machines, which went well, no crashes, etc, but experiencing a few weird things. On both platforms basic performance is quite laggy. Just dragging a simple text box about the screen is chopppy like the old days! Also, I used to complain about InDesign's black text selection colour (ie, not system highlight colour), but it was always at least instantaneous. Now, there's a delay effect just selecting text, words and paragraphs both on Windows and Mac (and the selection colour on Windows is a bizarre dark teal blue). Are any others experiencing this?
