I'm having trouble with InDesign CS6 crashing every single time I attempt to save or export a document I just finished. It has never been saved before, other documents save and close fine, I've tried removing all the links from the file, and it still crashes on save. I've tried copying it, and the moment I tell it to place the document on the clipboard it crashes. I don't know what else could POSSIBLY be causing this crash. There is no crash or error reports.

InDesign CC won't install
Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit
16GB Ram
500GB Hard Drive
Intel Quad Core CPU
When I click the install for InDesign CC the software is slowly downloaded, much slower than any of the other apps. It goes all the way through to Extracting and then it says "Waiting."
It NEVER gets beyond the Waiting stage. I even left it going while I went to bed and came back 7 hours later and it was still waiting and not doing anything. I canceled the operation and tried it again. Samething occurs. I checked Programs and Features to see if there is an old InDesign CS6 or even uninstalled CC version listed but none. I opened up the Adobe Uninstaller to see if InDesign might be listed even though it isn't listed anywhere else and it wasn't there either.
I tried again and still get the same thing, it just stops after extracting and is in "Waiting" mode without ever going further.

Cutting/Moving Pictures... Help!
I upgraded from CS2 to CS6 not too long ago. I have made a couple documents with the new program, but for some reason in this paticular document, I cannot cut or move a picture!! I have no idea what I did. Please help!!!!

InDesign CC crashing on launch
I've just downloaded the CC version of InDesign to my MacBook Pro but every time I launch it it crashes.
I'm running OSX 10.8.3, 8GB of ram, 8GB of disc space and I've tried trashing the prefs but it doesn't even make it to that dialog window. The UI appears and that's it boom! I've sent the crash log to Adobe but I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions or things to try to get it up and running?

How do I mport .csv speadsheets exported from google spreadsheets into a table in InDesign?
I have been trying to get a really simple spreadsheet downloaded from my google spreadsheets to link into an InDesign Table. I don't understand why I can't get the .csv file that I've exported from google spreadsheets.
The other option that seems like it should work is that I should be able to download a .xlsx file from Google Spreadsheets and "place" the file directly into ID, but I get the error "Cannot place this file. No filter found for requested operation."

Indesign CC and 10.6.8
I'm on a Macbook Pro, 10.6.8., 2.5ghz Intel Core Duo, 4gb Ram, loads of hard-drive. All my CS6 and CC apps work except for Indesign CC which gives me an "Error: 5"
I have no idea what this means.

InDesign CC responds slower than CS6 - any advice?
I've been using a trial of InDesign CS6 which ran smoothly for a month. Today I upgraded to InDesign CC.
I've only been using it today but there are detectable and annoying pauses when performing the following actions
Placing and relinking files
Exporting to PDF
Creating new files
Save as...
Anyone else experiencing this?
Using Windows 7 Ultimate
16GB Ram
64 bit OS
I have 250 GB SD drive for my software and a 3TB drive for my files.
I'm not great with the hardware so if I need to supply any other info please let me know!

Edit 2 sided flier
I'm a novice user of Indesign CS6. I've made my away around pretty well, thanks to all of the forums and help guides. However, I'm stumped by one thing. I've downloaded an IND file created by an outside source that I'd like to modify. It's a two sided flier. I've had great luck editing one side, but I cannot find the other side. What am I missing or overlooking?

InDesign Creative Cloud Crashes Constantly
I just updated to InDesign CC and I cant get the program to stay open. As soon as I create a new document the program crashes. I have uninstalled the programs and ran the CS cleaner like everyone says to do, restarted and reinstalled the application manager and let it update, reinstall InDesign and it still crashes. I am running it on W7 x64 and have had no prior problems when it was CS6. I guess others arent having the same problem as me as I cant find any other threads about the problem I am having. Any solutions/ideas?

InDesign CS6 Hyperlinks palette is blank, how do I change this?
I'm working in InDesign CS6 on a new Mac Powerbook.
I created hyperlinks in an InDesign CS3 document (last year) which I brought into CS6 today.
My hyperlinks do not apear in the control panel (as a list), but I see the highlighted links in the document and they are active when I save to pdf.
I'm including one additional comment - even though I marked the hyperlinks with invisible boxes, I'm still seeing outlines around the links.
I'm hoping once I have the panel with the list of links I can adjust the look on the page, too.
Is there a way to set the control panel back to a default setting?

Framed text box will not display on top layer of overlay
I am trying to place a framed photo and a frame text box over a layer. I have done this many times with no problem. Now, only the photo and its frame will overlay. The frame of the text frame displays but not the text. Only a place cursor is visible.

How to print part of an InDesign CS6 page?
I made the large leap from InDesign CS3 to CS6 and imagine my surprise when I saw that this version of ID still does not give you a way to print just part of a page. Am I just missing something? Since this is supposed to be a unified "suite" of applications, I assumed that simple thngs—like the print dialog—would have simlar features. Not so. In Illustrator you get a thumbnail image and you can drag the image around to print just a part of the page. The ID print diaglog is mostly unchanged from it's earliest version. The AI print dialog is very useful when trying to proof large format print jobs on a small format printer. In fact, it makes more sense for ID than Illustrator, but it is not there. I'm hoping that I'm simply missing something easy. Right now I have to export as a PDF and open in AI one page at a time. Very laborious. I have to say, for a "suite" this group of apps are more different than alike. Thanks in advance for any help.

As the title states the company I work for just got a big sale with a ton of individual cards for an electricity company , basically we got an excel database and I,m wondering if theres any way to make for each 90x60mm cards or how do other big companys that do similar stuff do it ? Any help would be appreciated . Thank you

Importing Word into InDesign, problem with styles

Hi everyone,
Does anyone have any experience with importing styled Word docs into InDesign?
Editors style their Word documents with some basic styles (Text, References, Headline, etc.) using a Word template that I created. Designers use import options to match the Word styles to the ID styles. This worked fine in Word 2004 and InDesign CS3: Word "text" style would map on import to the InDesign "text" style, even though they had totally different attributes. Superscripts, italics, etc. would be respected as local overrides in InDesign.
Then we upgraded to CS5. Automatic mapping on import no longer seems to work: After importing text, all the styles in InDesign have local overrides assigned to them that don't make sense (hyphenation exceptions, tab settings). So I'm left with importing the Word styles, using auto-renaming so that InDesign explicitly does NOT match styles. 
Then delete the Word styles one by one from the paragraph style panel, replacing with the desired ID style.
This has gone on for several months and we've now upgraded to Office 2011 but that hasn't solved the problem.
With Word 2011 docx files, the import works almost like it did in CS3, the styles almost come in cleanly: If the style in Word has NO local overrides, such as italics or superscripts, the InDesign style is correctly applied. The problem is those local overrides in Word--InDesign not only respects the italic or superscript, it also respects the font attribute. All the Word styles are Times New Roman so all superscripts in InDesign are coming in as superscript + TNR. (see screenshot)
Are we left with our original work-around? Importing styles then manually deleting and replacing them?
This is frustrating because it used to be smooth and seamless and while some new features of CS5 are great, it's annoying that it's broken this fundamental function!
I've tried saving the Word files as doc or rtf instead of docx but this doesn't make a difference in this problem.
Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Indesign CC menus appearing at wrong place
Installed Indesign cc. everything works fine, except for the pull-out menus in the tool palette.
I have a dual monitor setup, using windows 8, and when I click (the little triangle) and hold to pull up extra tools... they appear on my other monitor or in the middle of my first monitor.
Didn't have this problem in indesign CS6.

Indesign crashes randomly over very simple tasks... repeatedly.
It won't happen often, but when it happens, it will happen repeatedly and over something very small, like deleting a column, word or page, or even adding bullet points. I'm on CS6 now, but it happened on CS5 as well, I thought upgrading would stop it. Sometimes there are ways around it, but generally it just crashes a lot and severely frustrates me.
This is the error report for one of the crashes.
I've tried splitting files, exporting as IDML, and deleting the ID preferences & save data.
Please help!

InDesign CC crashes always after quit
InDesign CC crashes alway after quit. Every time I quit InDesign CC I get the error message that the program crashed. After restarting InDesign CC I have to do all the presettings again. What can I do?

InDesign CC crashes when i move objects
Hi,
Installed InDesign CC yesterday, have rebooted since then.
Both x64 and x32 versions crash when i move objects, i can use Nudge with arrows and transformation to change size.
But not using mouse/keyboard like SHIFT and change size... or just moving an object with a mouse.

Creating files for print
Hello,
I've recently moved from Quark to InDesign, and I've also started using a new digital print company. The printer is asking that all artwork be supplied as cmyk pdf's (no spot colours) and as I'm new to InDesign I was wondering if there is a way to create cmyk colours from spot colours, or if there is a way to do it when creating a print ready pdf file.
