I just have upgraded my cs6 to the new cc-suite. But indesign cc does not work properly on my iMac. Each time I want to make a text frame or work in a text frame in a old ID-file indesign cc crashes. I have some urgent deadlines from different tasks that need to be finished. HELP. Thanks in advance for an answer please.

Interactive pdf form in InDesign repeat text field
I am working to create an interactive pdf form. The name field needs to be displayed several times. I would to create form in such a way that once the user enter the name once, the same name is used in all other places. Please help.

CS6 hyperlink problem
Hi everyone,
In Indesign CS6, I created a new URL hyperlink and pasted the following link into the field:
http://law.ato.gov.au/atolaw/view.htm?docid=AID/AID2004688/00001
But when I click OK and then look in the URL field in the hyperlinks panel, I see that Indesign has changed the link to the following:
http://law.ato.gov.au/atolaw/view.htm%3Fdocid%3DAID/AID2004688/00001
Notice how it's swapping out the question mark (?) after .htm with %3F.
It's also swapping out the equals sign (=) with %3D.
This breaks the URL and makes it no longer workable.
I tried reinstalling Indesign but the problem still remains.
I wondered if anyone knows why this is happening and whether there's a workaround?

Can I mark sku's to create index. CS6
I am a brand new user to indesign. I am making a catalog of our products. Is there some way to "mark" our item number sku's while I am placing the item numbers, text and images? That way, I can "push a button" and my item number sku index can be created instantly? Also, is that item number index able to be exported to a spreadsheet.
In a nutshell, I need to know all of the item numbers that are in our catalog, and export it to a spreadsheet in order to verify it against our actual computer item list.

Converting alternate layout to standard layout?
I am using the Alternate Layouts feature to create different page sizes in my document (CS6). So I have one tabloid page and two letter size pages and each are given their own master and layout type. Printing the entire file at this point is very cumbersome because you have to specify each page. Is there a way to convert the alternate layout back to something standard so I can just print pages 1-3 and Adobe will recognize all pages as one single unit? I hope that makes sense. As it stands now I have to specify each layout I have created in order to print them which is kind of a pain.

Need running header functionality not supported by InDesign CS6
Hello,
I am in the process of typesetting a large document (~1000 pages) by an author/publisher with very specific requirements. One such requirement is the use of running headers. However, the way he wants running headers implimented is different from the how running headers are done in InDesign CS6. As things stand in CS6, running variables may display the first or last occurance of a style on the page. My publisher wants a variation on this: If paragraph style "Section Title" is the first style on the page , then use the first instance of the "Section Title" style as the running header. However, if ANY other style is the first style on the page, then use the last occurance of the "Section Title" style from the previous page. See the below graphic for more clarification.

Every page will have between 0 and 2 new sections, so doing this by hand is not an option, especially as content is added. I've done quite a bit of research, and it doesn't seem like I'm able to do what I want "out of the box" with indesign....I can't seem to get it to pull styles from the previous page or perform the simple logic to decide which section should go in the header. Does anyone have any ideas? Am I going to have to do a crash course in InDesign scripting? If so, does anyone know of a depositories of scripts that may point me in the right direction?

mime-type for .ICML file
Hi
In indesign, users are exporting InCopy icml files for text that are going to be stored in a content management system.
What mime-type should I assign to it? I see the contents is ASCII and in an XML structure. There are already XML articles with an XML mimetype so I can applied that but I'm wondering if there is already a correct mime type for this file.

ID ePUB export converts all *inline* anchored JPEG images to PNG?
During ePUB export, when Image Conversion = Automatic, anchored JPEG images with Position = Inline are converted to PNG. If Anchored Object Position = Custom, the same images stay JPEG. Anyone know a better way to avoid than the less-than-ideal options below?
Less than idea options:
a) Use Image Conversion = JPEG (would also convert existing .gif and .png images)
b) Specify Object Export Options for each image frame that contains a JPEG.
Maybe this is just a bug.

Smart text reflow
Hello!
I'm using CS3 to produce a catalog of 400 pages. And Is there a way to have the same effect that smart text reflow do. I need to add pages automatically while using a text frame.
I use a little plug-in call easy catalog and it is suppose to add pages automatically, but it doesn't with cs3 (that what the company says) But I'm trying to see if there is a way too make my life easier...

Place CC PSD file in to InDesign
I have been trying out CC this afternoon and came to a problem when I try to place a PSD file saved from Photoshop CC in to InDesign. I have both InDesign CS6 and CC installed and the same issue occurs with both, so I think it is a problem with the PSD file. Compatability mode is ON.
When I try to place a JPG or PSD file from previous photoshop versions it works as normal.
The actual issue is that sometimes the object frame just appears as a purple box and other times it won't place in to the document at all... anyone else experiencing similar problems.

Adobe InDesign CS5.5 crashes when working with Hi Res Content
I am working on Final layouts in InDesign, using Full Resolution photo comps created in Photoshop. Both Indesign and Photoshop have crashed at least 5 times today. It takes about 5 minutes for a link to update in Indesign , after editing in Photoshop . . and that is after the 3-4 minutes it takes for the Photoshop files to save. I am not viewing files in Full Res in InDesign , because it takes takes twice as long to anything when Full Res is turned on. This is with no other apps open on my machine.

Indesign Crashes when text selected
I see several others are having issues with InDesign CC crashing. Just downloaded it (OS 10.8.4, plenty of ram, etc.) and it crashes whenever the text tools is selected.
Unfortunately, I uninstalled the previous InDesign version, and now can't even see that as an option on Adobe. Would like to download the previous version again so I can keep working while this problem sorts itself out.

InDesign CS6 PDF Bookmark Page Display Size Issue.
PDF's made in InDesign CS6 and viewed in Acrobat Pro 10 - when clicking on bookmarks the pages opens at varying percentages of the size - e.g. some at 56% some at 99% etc., the sizes are variable. Does anyone know why this is happening and what the cure is please? This was not a problem in Acrobat Pro 9 and CS5 InDesign. Many thanks.

Can I upgrade to CC but carry on using CS6 as main app?
I have several important projects on the go exchanging files with other InDesign CS6 users but am really tempted to upgrade to InDesign CC in order to get a feel for it before making it my main version. Can I:
a) Run both apps concurrently?
b) Will having CC on my Mac have any adverse effect on CS6 (update prefs etc)?

A bit of help with data merge
I am working on a catalog in ID CS6 and I am setting it up using data merge. I have run into a road block. I have seven entries that go together so to speak as far as pricing and I would like to list them as a bundle; like show the photos and item numbers together and then the pricing all as one. However, I can not get the data merge to show more than just the first record in my csv file. Can someone show me the right direction please!!! I am in dire need of some education on this. My deadline is moving closer and I still have not figured this out. Thanks for all that have an insight.

Indesign CS6 crashes when adding unique master page.
When adding a master page for a book spine (narrow width, like 6 picas, InDesign always crashes with the ' a serious error was detected' message.
This seems to happen with every document, and also new douments with no content.
