[In a table] I would like to use numbered paragraphs [in the first column] but ID does not allow yo use a ch style to get the background for the number (below)
(Also, the cells have different heights)
Isolating the problem it appears ID here does not allow to do it.
The number disappears but later appears. But it is difficult to work like this if some editing is required for renumbering)

Required:
My company's primary color is Pantone 541 C. Prior to InDesign CC, I could select New Color Swatch..., PANTONE Solid Coated, type in 541 and it would come right up. Since moving to InDesign CC, when I type in 541, it defaults to 5415 and will not go to 541 no matter what I do. I have to scroll through the list (waste of time!) until I find it and click add. It is in the list, but does not come up when typing 541. WHY? Does this have something to do with Pantone+ versus the old Pantone colors? Can I create a default swatch to include this color because I use it in 99% of things I design.
Every time I open an old indesign file. I am getting a window for typekit. I use suitcase and all the fonts are located there. Not installed on my computer. (I have 9800 fonts so you get the idea).
It will not find my suitcase fonts even if they are open - I need it off ASAP any help will be appreciated.
I upgraded my macbook from snow leopard to Maverick and now the right click in my Indesign CS6 is gone. Before, when I right clicked, a big menu came up, which I liked. Now, when I right click, nothing happens, and then I have to poke around for what I'm looking for. How can I reenable the right click menu is Indesign CS6 for mac?

How do I import a multi-page PDF document in InDesign and then Duplicate each page in order to output double-sided SAME image ?
We're experiencing some quirky glitches with InDesign CC on a Mac running OS 10.6.8, and with CC 2014 on Windows 7. I'll indicate which system on each problem...
Anchored objects disappear when anchored into boxes that are, in turn, anchored into text flow.
We publish catalogs and anchor all our images to the accompanying text so that as we remove/add products, all the text and images flow together. We have several instances in which we use a box to highlight certain products. In that box might be 1, 2, 3, or more products, each with anchored images. When we anchor those boxes within the main text flow, many of the images inside the box disappear. The anchors are still there but we can't see the images. This is happening on both systems.
"Replace" field disappears when selecting anything from the “wildcard/special char.” menu in "find and replace". Windows.
Shift click to unlock master page items bring background item to foreground.
In CS4 and 5.5, if you shift-clicked to release an item from the master page, the top-most item was released. Now it seems as though the item that is farthest behind gets released first, which makes it impossible to select any other items if that one is a full-page background. Both systems.
Double/triple clicking on a word to select it does nothing.
You could literally click for 5 minutes and it wont select anything. You have to click off the box, use selection tool then click back onto the box and then it will work. You can move the cursor a few letters away and it will select the appropriate line or paragraph but it did not work this way in earlier versions. Both systems.
Any suggestions, or is it something we're doing wrong?

Despite numerous tries and methods cannot get auto page numbering to work.
I recently upgraded to Creative Cloud. I have a iMac Processor 2.66 GHz Intel Core i5 I upgraded the OS to 10.9.1 a couple of months ago in preparation. In the InDesign 9.2 CC. My text randomly disappears while I am working on it. I have to click off it then click back where I think it is and send to the front to get it back. Sometimes just zooming in and out will bring it back or other various things. It is not actually deleting the text just the view of it, but I can't work on it if I can't see it. It is really annoying and cutting into my productivity. Has anyone else had this problem? Also, I am unable to do more than 1 or 2 undos where as in CS 5 I could do multiple undos. Is that normal for CC? Is there somewhere you can set the number of undos? I could not find anything under preferences. This is also a problem as I am used to being able to go back a few steps when I change my mind on something.
Any help on either issue would be appreciated.

is there a way to find out where a certain colour (swatch) is used inside a document, like on what page or something?
Inside a single-page document is not a big deal, in a 200+ paged document it is hell to find out…
I can search for "character colour" and search again for object fill and again for stroke and again and again.
I'm looking for an "easy" way to use.
or maybe there is a script for that?

When I apply a paragraph style a set of text in which one paragraph has a link to a url, the styling of the paragraphs following the url, have the same hyperlink styling applied to it.
The text after has no links etc and is not part of the same paragraph.
Help! Why can't it be as easy and importing an MSWord Doc? I've been reading about data merge and XML and both are just not working for me. I'm probably doing something wrong. Right now. I'm just trying things out to figure out the best way to execute. When the live text is ready I will have up to 5,000 skus to place in up to 200 pages. I'm using InDesign CS6 - My templates are done, text boxes are linked and style sheets set up. I need to figure out a way to import the excel doc with the columns that I need, in the order I need and somehow (hopefully) styled accordingly. I'm more concerned with the text than the images, so I can import the images on my own.
With Data merge, I'm noticing that it won't work with linked boxes..the text is styled but it won't flow from one linked box to another. With XML - I think I'm close, but when I have the tags in place, will only allow me to import one story at a time.
Anyone have experience doing large catalogs? What can you suggest?

My InDesign CS3 will not connect to the internet while installed on my Windows 7 64bit laptop. Is this a compatibility issue. Has anyone else experienced this problem. I have read a view forums now and there is some discussion to this having happened to others. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I spent several hundred dollars on InDesign and Dreamweaver CS3 and used the software with no problem previously on my XP Professional Desktop.
When I stopped using the desktop, I deactivated the software and removed it from the desktop and installed it on my laptop.
Here's something I had not seen coming but I only noticed after installation of the the 2014 update.
I now have three instances of the CreativeSui/Cloud on my computer.
One at C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\
Two at C:\Program Files\Adobe
I don't suppose there is a magic way to untangled that?

We are running Indesign 10.0.0.70 on Mavs and cannot export an Indd file to a Jpeg (nor png's, but print pdf worked). We back-saved and attempted it on a different computer running 9, and it worked fine. I'm not finding that others are having this problem, what should we do?
I am trying to print this brochure, I did configure the document size (20 x 23) and when I send to print I see this message (attach the image) .
I thought was a problem with my master pages, but I cannot find the mistake.

I have Indesign CC 64-bit, on a Dell XPS18. I upgraded(?) to Windows 8.1.
Since then the Indesign screens show at a lower res than other windows - that's menus and everything, not just the page content.
Any help appreciated.

I have a PC with Windows 7 and am using CS5 to design a magazine.
I am trying to rearrange pages, and every time I try to move pages via the sidebar, the program goes unresponsive and I need to force it to close. It does the same when I try to add or delete pages.
I don't see much of a way to circumvent this problem. I've already tried deleting InDesign Preference files upon rebooting.
Any pointers or troubleshooting?

My workplace purchased Creative Cloud license last year, so I created a 60 pages catalog using CC InDesign about 1 month ago. Now my department has migrated CS 6 instead of CC version. None of my CC files can be open by CS 6 InDesign. How can I solve this compatibility issue? Thank you!

Cancelling the membership is really not so easy for the Customers in Adobe Online. There are no proper way to solved my problem. (No Email of Adobe support etc.)
