All of the sudden my Indesign is giving me an error box whenever I click File>New>Document or Ctrl+N
A blank error box appears and has %CCX_FNFT_DIALOG_NAME as the header. It won't let me create a new document.
I can still open an existing document however.
Any ideas?
I have created a test interactive document with links to product DG012 on our company website.

When the link is clicked from publish online it opens the page but seems to disable all scripts that run on the website. e.g. search field and add to cart no longer functions on that page.
The website itself functions correctly if you navigate to the link manually ( http://www.lockhart.co.uk/Table-Service-and-Buffet/Buffet-Display/Display-Stands/Rafters-F usion-1-2-Board~p~DG012 ).
On closer inspection it seems to be an iframe issue -

Is it possible to make a Grep in a paragraph to search the word "CUSTOM", then it automatically apply a CELL STYLE for that specific row?
ex. all the row that has a word CUSTOM needs to be highlighted as yellow (Fill in yellow).

I am using InDesign CS6. A week ago I installed it on my new Mac Book Pro (High Sierra) and now the cmd+z shortcut does not work anymore. It stopped going back "endlessly" and only goes back 3-4 clicks/actions. I just deinstalled it and then installed it again but the bug is still there. It worked fine for several years on my old Mac Book Pro (Snow Leopard).
Is there a possibility to fix the bug? If not can I get a replacement working version from Adobe?

I export a 65 page ID file to HTML every month. For the last two months I have found a significant error in my HTML export. For endnotes, the endnote numbers, as well as their id and href attributes, fail to export to HTML. Oddly, the export works correctly for the first few endnote numbers in a given story; and in-text references also seem to export correctly.
This error also seems to appear in ePub exports.
Finally, both endnote references and endnote numbers simply disappear now when I copy/paste into MS Word from ID.
Any help is much appreciated.

InDesign CC 2017 keeps crashing on me whenever I try to create a new hyperlink to anything. I already have about 20 hyperlinks made, and am still able to make them in other documents. Any suggestions on what could be causing this?

Hi, can anyone help me? I'm trying more and more desperately to paste some chinese text from a Word document into an ID document and ID keeps crashing all the time. Sometimes I can get a handful of words in it but then it crashes again when I try to do such fancy things as deleting one single character or so.
I use InDesign CC2015 and MacOS High Sierra (10.13.4)
What I have tried already (without success):
-- Use an older version of Word
-- Copy/paste text in Text Wrangler before pasting in ID
-- Save text as "text only" (txt) format before pasting
-- Save ID document as .idml to "clean it up"
-- choose another chinese font in Word before pasting
... none of this worked!

When I write in Arabic in Adobe Indeisgn, I'm getting stuck on the problem, that Indeisgn doesn't allow me to write numbers before arabic letters (right-to left). Instead, InDesign automatically places the numbers after any arabic word.
It has to be like that:

Ich habe genau das entgegengesetzte Problem. Ich habe nach Umstellung meine Broschüren in arabisch und persisch setzen können, doch nun bekomme ich meine Voreinstellungen nicht mehr resetet, sodass ich ohne weiteres Umstellen Deutsch bzw. lateinisch setzen kann.
Es verbleiben trotz Änderung: Das Wörterbuch (also Sprache), der Font, die Einstellung der Kashidas usw erhalten.

I'm trying to create an Indesign TOC which displays in a specific format depending on which paragraph style it is picking up (chapter or heading). I've created styles within my TOC, which are based on a basic paragraph style which is contained outside of the TOC group. The TOC chapter / heading paragraph styles then contain a slight variation in tab and font. Whilst these displayed as expected, as soon as i update the contents page, all of this is lost and the various headings/chapters revert to the formatting used within the document.
I have a previous document i've based this off which shows it working, and i can't see any differences in the set-up. When i tried copying the old TOC style into my new document, the same issue arises. This doesn't include nesting, etc, which I don't really know how to use.
If anyone knows where i'm going wrong, please let me know.

I can't print any document from Indesign ever since my computer updated with the new Microsoft Update. All other applications are working fine, it's just the Indesign application that will not print. Is there an error with the Indesign CS6 application, or is it an error with the update?

During the exporting INDD into IDML, the error below occurs.
Certain Paragraph Return (\r) is changed into 'PARAGRAPH SEPARATOR'(U+2029) and the first sentence’s paragraph style is changed into the paragraph style of the second sentence which makes two sentences into one.
Every time this bug occurs, we have to open the INDD file and change “U+2029” into another character such as “space” and export it again.
Finally we found out that this error occurs when 8000th character is “Paragraph Return (\r)”.
When 8000th character is “\r”, it is changed into “U+2029” automatically during exporting it to IDML. (it seems that it occurs every 8000th character: 8000th, 16000th …)
Now, we made a sample (test) files for your check.
test.indd : we put 9000 characters with two paragraph styles
test.idml (exported from text.indd):
8000th paragraph return (right after the last character “h”) had been changed into “U+2029” and its paragraph style had also been changed from “Description” to “Heading2” which is the next paragraph’s style.
FYI, A table with text is counted as one character only. (Text inside the table is not considered as a character in this case)
Please help us with this bug and let us know if there’s any solution for it.

When I export my file to a pdf it keeps the old file name. Is there a setting that I am not aware of that I need to change. It only happens on certain files, not all. I get customer files in all the time and change the file names and would like my pdf's to reflect the new file name, without having to rename the pdf. The page information is correct that is stamped on the pdf.

I've updated my program and ran the bug fixes as suggested. I've also restarted my machine, to which I'm still having this issue. It will freeze up InDesign and whatever program I'm pasting into. In this case, it's Photoshop. I have 9 designers on my team and we are all currently experiencing this same issue.
We need this function quite a bit in what we do, so we'd really love a solution to this. Any other suggestions?

I was curious if anyone else has run into this issue and what their solution was.
I have an indesign template saved onto my work server based in Kanas City. If someone in KC opens the document, the file opens up quickly with no dialog boxes. However, if we tap into the server outside of KC and try to open the same file, it pops up a dialog box that shows it loading 190 links (there are only three links in the original file.) One solution we found was downloading the packaged file onto a desktop. Doing it this way takes away the 190 links and it opens normally. Unfortunately, that makes it so we can't update one template file across the board.
Any ideas of what is happening here and how to fix it?

I have created a 250 page book in indesign. When I select "Package for Print", printers marks are not set. If I try just printing the book, I see where I can opt to print with printers marks, but they don't save on the file. When I go back to Package for print, they're not showing.
How can I create a PDF of the entire book that I can upload to a printing website (going to use Mimeo.com) WITH crop marks shown on that file? Mimeo only accepts PDF files.
I have CS5 on a Mac. Please be specific as to what instructions you give, as I'm new to this. Thanks!
