Wacom tablet problems with InDesign CC 2017
I have had a problem develop with InDesign CC 2017 on my machine (Windows 10 / 64 bit) with my Wacom tablet. I can move the cursor on the screen with the pen but cannot select objects or text boxes with it. I come back and attempt the same movements with the mouse and it works normally. On some occasions, I can make a text selection with the pen and a few minutes later cannot make the same selections with the pen, but can with the mouse.
I have talked to Wacom about this and have followed their advice, but nothing has changed the erratic behavior. I cannot pinpoint when this started, but it has been going on about a month -- before that, the pen worked flawlessly. Has anyone got a clue as to what the issue might be? The tablet / pen works fine with other Adobe programs.

How to get book to open chapters relative to current path?
If I copy a folder that contains an indesign book and chapters to a new folder, when I open the book in the new folder, it continues to refer to the chapter files in their original location instead of using a referential path. Is there a preference to change this?

Editing images
Hello,
while working with Id (CC 2107, Window 2010), how can I edit images in Ps or Ai? I have tried with:
right click
edit with (PS in that case)
open, worked on the image
BUT ones I tried to save it, it didn't apply/update automatically the changing in Id, instead I was supposed to save the new version ot the image and upload again in Id.
Could you please help?

TextWrap and Anchored Objects
Okay, I've been using InDesign since it was PageMaker 4.3 so I'm pretty familiar with the features and the intents behind them. Lately I've had a problem for which I can't seem to find a fully acceptable work-around. It involves text-wrapping anchored objects within a large, multi page flow of text.
Boiled down to a basic description of the issue, I need a graphic to appear on a page within a text block at a certain point, that is, at the top of a justified paragraph on the extreme right side of the column. The object occupies 7 lines of text, dropping down into the paragraph from line 1. The object needs to have a word wrap applied causing the text within the block to flow around it.
The problem is that as the document evolves, the quantity of text that precedes the paragraph holding the graphic changes. As text is added to preceding paragraphs, text advances through the text blocks to a point where the graphic now begins to be displayed beyond the bottom of the text block rather than jump to the next text block. Forcing the object to stay within the text block (by using the "Keep with top/bottom column boundaries") pushes the object up, effectively leaving the original location and invading the preceding paragraph.
The first solution I tried was to anchor the object 7 lines deep in the paragraph, then manually move it up to the first line using the "Y-offset" in the "Anchored Objects Options" palette. When I do this, the object's text wrap fails (!), always working only at line 7 and below and not moving up with the object.
My current solution is to not embed the object inline at all, but place it over the text block. This works but is unsatisfactory since the text is constantly changing, forcing me to stop and reposition the graphic - plus the 500 or so similar objects that follow in similar situations further along in the document.
Any ideas?

Add new columns to a table without changing the width of a table
Hi. I'm wondering if it's possible to add new columns to a table without changing the width of a table. So that the other columns will become smaller.
Also, is it possible to automatically fit an existing table into a new frame with different dimensions?
And one more question is how to change the width of a column so that the table resizes to one side only? Currently table resizes to both sides 1/2 way of the amount the column was resized.

measure placement from single pages, not from entire spread
I know there's an easy to do this, but I've forgotten how to find it. I want to measure object placement from the top left of each page, not from the left of the entire spread. Where is it changed?

Nested styles are not applied
I've added a nested style to a paragraph style: one bold italic word at the beginning of the paragraph. But it never shows up as bold italic, and I have to apply the style with the character menu by hand. No style other than the paragraph style (which includes the nested style) is applied.

Small words on end of lines in paragraphs
I've recently had a job where in paragraphs I was asked to around to the next line any one, two or three letter words so these words weren't looking like they were out on their own (even if they fell shorter than any line above or below). Never have I been asked to do this before, and I mentioned this to a friend, and he said you can set this in a style sheet or paragraph setting.
Does anybody know anything about this? If so, could you enlighten me please?
BTW: I know you can set a minimum of how many letters fall at the end of a line when using hyphenation by not breaking words under a user defined amount, but I wasn't allowed to use hyphenation.

Urdu Noori Nastaleeq typing issue
Hello,
Settings used: I do see Jameel Noori Nastaleeq in the list of fonts. I have already changed my language from English to Urdu from my tool bar.
Problems at Hand: I have two issues.
1: When typing, rather than combining letters in to words Adobe indesign simply type letters.
2: Urdu suppose to be written from right to left but letter gets typed still from right to left.
Any help will be appreciated.

Character Style jump bug / error
Has anyone else encountered the strange and annoying phenomenon where a Character Style jumps back to a certain style in the list when you try to set it to [None]? What is causing this and how can it be solved?
