I just installed InDesign CC 2015 on a new computer
I am seeing funny characters near the page numbers in the pages panel
Does anyone have any idea what this can be or how to go about fixing it?

When opening a CS6 InDesign document (.indd or .indt), it opens off-center (see screenshot of InDesign when opening a document). It doesn't matter if I have saved the document centered on the screen the last time it was opened; almost all documents open off-center. I am using the same screen and the same computer every time (Mac OS X v10.6.8).
Also, sometimes it opens on the master page instead of page 1.
I never had these problems before (in CS5) until we upgraded to CS6 yesterday. Neither of these changes are obvious in Preferences. How do I make all documents open on page 1, centered on my screen?
after i upgrade my Mac to OS X El Capitan, indesign CS6 can't use, why? How to Fix it?
Please help. The software was working last week. For some reason now it is crashing every time I open it.
I have four small pages and I want them to print in the Center of an 8.5x11 page from a PDF document.

I'm using grep for fractions, and it is correctly formatted in paragraph/character styles, it works for common fractions such as 1/4, however it is ignoring 3/8. Am I missing something? Thanks in advance!

I can not make a slide show auto play in InDesign 11.1.0.122 and using Publish Online (Preview).

I am trying to export the pdf in greyscale mode, but in pdf i still see the cmyk colors.
I am using indesign cs6
In the output section i have selected the color destination, then gray gamma option to print in grey scale. But pdf is still having cmyk colors embeded in it

When in InDesign I go to File...New, and create a new document.
InDesign then usually stalls for a minute, and then crashes.
I can never create a new document. I have been opening old files, and then manipulating them to get what I need.
Any tips on how to get InDesign to work again?
I´m trying to install two licenses of InDesign 7.5 on two Windows 7 pc formatted by a virus, I have purchase invoices of both licenses, but I don´t have original boxes where are the codes. How I can get the installation codes? Is there any mail support from adobe to request this licenses codes? Many thanks for your help.
So I was having this issue with the new InDesign CC 2015 (Mac) and I finally figured it out and thought I'd share, in case anyone else is in the same boat.
I don't use any of the sync stuff, but I was constantly having a CC Library window pop open every single time I'd create a new swatch in an InDesign document (CC 2015). Wasn't having this problem before the upgrade.
It turns out that there's a checkbox at the bottom of the New Color Swatch window: "Add to CC Library." Looks like this is checked by default. Just uncheck it. Seems like it remembers this from then on.
I was going crazy for a bit there, because I had turned off all my sync settings in InDesign and clicked "Manage Creative Cloud Account" to clear settings on the website. I even went so far as to rebuild my InDesign preferences (because at one point the colors palette lost all of the buttons at the bottom and I could no longer delete swatches), repaired permissions in OS X, restarted my computer, yet this was still happening. Then I noticed that checkbox... yeah... a checkbox that was probably there the whole time. Go me.
Anyway, there you go.

My company leverages InDesign for the dynamic creation of PDF documents. As we look to upgrade to CC 2015, we noticed in our testing that the watermark has different positioning from previous versions. This seemingly insignificant change has quite the impact on our automated testing environment.

Hi. I have just installed OS X 10.11 El Capitan and every time I select File - Open, the window is small. I resize it but it just resets the next time. Is anyone else having this problem?

Having successfully installed many CC apps on my Mac Pro Desktop, I proceeded to do the same on my laptop. However, after two attempts at uninstalling and re-downloading both InDesign CC and the Creative Cloud Desktop. When starting up InDesign, I repeatedly get this error message: "Error: Unable to launch Adobe InDesign as you lack sufficient permissions to access the preferences folders. Ensure that you have appropriate permissions and then restart Adobe InDesign." and can go no further.
I can find no instruction on how to do this, or reference to anyone else getting this error.
