When clicking on the rectangle frame tool and drawing - the box does not remain after drawing.
I have also noticed that the drop down to select different shapes of frame tool is not working either.
I have tried shutting down and reopening a ew document, but still experiencing the same issues.
I'm having a problem with OMA in InDesign CC 2017.0. It does not work. Can anyone suggest why and what i can do to make it work?
I recently made the update to Adobe InDesign from CC 2017 (12.1.0) to CC 2018 (13.0) and immediately started having issues.
When I open up a pervious InDesign document from my LaCie external hard drive and re-save (Save As) the file, InDesign crashes with the following error: “The network connection was lost for the file _____.indd, or the file was modified by another process”
Followed by another error message: “Error: Adobe InDesign is shutting down. A serious error was detected. Please restart InDesign to recovery work in any unsaved InDesign documents.”
If I re-save the same document on my desktop or internal hard drive I have no issues. It seems like re-saving a document from the external hard drive to the external hard drive is causing major issues with the new InDesign update. Any one having similar experiences with this? Are there any fixes?

Graphics: Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536 MB
I'm on a Mac with OS 10.13.3.
I'll select text and then go to the top menu to change the font, and InDesign crashes. If it doesn't crash, it won't let me select a font from the drop down menu. What's going on? It's driving me crazy.
I'm using Suitcase Fusion version 18.2.4 for font management, and I clean my font caches regularly.

I have a catalog that needs setup. It contains a table of contents (not using TOC tool) and sections. We are constantly adding and removing parts so I need everything linked so that when I add a page then the page numbers on the TOC adjust automatically. I do not understand how to use the TOC nor know if it could apply to this.
I have attached photos of the project.
I would love to just have the page numbers link to the page numbers in the document and that way they automatically adjust. Does anyone know if this can be done?
Or the best way to go about.
I currently have the C master with page numbers and artwork.

Agora acontece que utilizo a tecla Alt e arrasto com o rato e surgem 3 objectos, o do meio surge com uma caixa a tracejado.

J'ai créé un fichier Indesign et l'ai enregistré une première fois.
J'ai travaillé aujourd'hui sur ce même fichier et en voulant utiliser un raccourci ai demandé de fermer le document sans l'enregistrer.
Savez-vous si je peux récupérer les fichiers enregistrés automatiquement par Indesign alors que j'ai choisi de fermer moi-même mon document sans l'enregistrer ?

I'm wondering if there is a specific function/configuration I need to set in my INDD.
I performed a find/replace search in an INDD book. The search did not review the headers/footers of my master pages.
I'm wondering if I need to perform the search in a different way, or if maybe there is a setting I need to configure so that future searches will review the text in my headers/footers?
I have created a template as a starting point for a number of forms and documents. I can hunt for that file in the open dialog, but shouldn't the template show up in the open screen somewhere? Maybe the "Saved" list? Is there a directory they need to be in?

I'm having a problem while generating the PDF from Indesign. These files were already produced on PC. I formatted the formulas using the Mathtype tools and later inserted the .doc file into Indesign CC 14.
I unlinked the .eps formulas to a folder and linked the files to indesign.
See below the result on the Mac, it seems that it does not recognize the Symbol font.

I'm having issues where I'm trying to make an Interactive PDF and my EPUB Interactivity Preview panel won't expand.
As you can see, my links window had the dotted lines on the bottom that indicates that it can expand but the EPUB Interactivity Preview doesn't, so I'm forced to watch my animations on a window that's literally 1"x1". Does anyone have any solutions to this? Here are the things I've already tried:
- Restarted InDesign
- Dock the EPUB panel with another
- Messed around with the Interface in Preferences
I appreciate any help I can get with this!
we have a server for our graphics drive, which we remotely access and I have a quick link to this on my desktop. I double click on this link and it takes me to the server, where I can access all our artwork. There is no problem with this at all. I can open any file via this method. However, once I have opened an InDesign file, clicked on ‘File’ and then ‘Package’ from the dropdown menu, and then clicked ‘Package’ on the window that opens, I get the attached error message and can’t go any further.
The error message is this:
Unable to package the document.
In design cannot access ‘graphics: 'file-name.indd’
Can anyone tell me what has gone wrong and / or how to fix it. I am using the latest Indesign version and also the latest version of Mac OS.

Simple facing document with one master page A (facing pages) and two master pages (facing pages) based on Master A.
Master page A applied to all pages.
WHEN APPLYING Master page B on a right page, one element disappears on the left page???
Been trying to find a solution for over a year. In it again now, and still cannot find a solution.
Please help! My students are near an exam, and the Based on option is necessary.
I have a document with DIN PRO FONTS.
The whole doc is made with this font.
The police is loaded and active.
Because there are numerous versions of other DIN FONTS , I cleaned my whole mac and trashed all the previous versions of DIN fonts.
JUST the legit DIN PRO font is loaded and active.
Now i need to replace missing fonts by the good one.
AS you can see, old Din instances appear missing
(that 's normal, they were trashed, mac restarted etc).
The new DIN PRO, the good one, is already active in most of the document.
Picture below shows it is.

whenever i try to tell Indesign I want to use the new DIN PRO, here what happens :
I try to select the new DIN PRO, which IS already ACTIVE , and displaying all right in the font list. (picture below)
THEN when selected, it IS AUTOMATICALLY REPLACED in the field BY SOME OTHER NON ACTIVE AND MISSING VERSION OF DIN (an old crappy OTF), AND IT WONT BUDGE. (picture below)
IMPOSSIBLE TO GET ANOTHER CHOICE.
TOTALLY STUCK. WILL NOT ACCEPT hand typing (will replace with bad missing font all the time)
PLEASE HELP
Everything was working fine and one morning I tried to log into my InDesign and received this error message.
The file is says it can't find is definitely not there but I'm not sure what to do from here.

I am having a problem with my text frames in Indesign - the text starts several lines from the top.
This problem began within a large document and I cannot determine what I did that created the problem and how to get the text to go to the top of the frame as before.
1. Things were fine until I got started on chapter 2 of the book. I couldn't find a way to start over with endnote 1. If someone has a solution, I'd love to hear it.
2. The main frustration is: when I insert a new endnote, say 47, on the endnote page it inserts the number in front of the data for endnote 46, and moves the data down. Endnote 46 is still there, but has no reference information. I can cut the info and paste it back where it belongs, but InDesign just does the same thing next time - endnote 48 moves down the data from endnote 47.
It doesn't matter where I put the cursor. I've tried it after the endnote information, on the following line where the new endnote will go, and (as I grew more aggravated) at random spots on the page. It simply moves down the info from the previous endnote.
I have to match the endnotes with a list in Word, and am copying from Word and pasting into InDesign. It worked fine for chapter 1. I'm only a little way into chapter 2, and there are 8 chapters.
Does anyone have any idea how to solve this?

I thought the program was slow last year. Now it takes forever to boot and is amazingly sluggish in execution. I only use it three to four times a year. I'm amazed I'm paying for this. Is there any way to boost the performance for System 13.13.3?
Maybe you can come up with an InDesign Elements program we can purchase, just like Photoshop Elements? I use it to assemble PDF covers for self-published books. It took nearly 2 hours assemble a cover today: front, back and spine.

Is there a way to make InDesign intreact with the placed Ai path by snapping to it?
I mean the nodes, not the object frame.
I can even edit the path 's nodes in InDesign by opening it - but no snapping when out of this mode.
So far the only solution I found is to open the placed path in InDesign, and in that edit mode - draw the guides by snapping to nodes. But that just seems silly, when I already have the path.
It would be useful for me with packaging designs - I have to rely to the path (dieline/punch).
