Epub export file limit

Hi, I'm trying to create a large epub (for iPad) which will be fixed layout.   This means that each page is a separate indd so that the css and xhtml can be individually changed as needed.  However, the way in which Indesign handles the export to epub is by opening all of the files.  It seems that the limit it can open is 137 files.  So, the export 'skips' files.  I'm running CS6 with the latest update 8.0.1.406 and have tried the 'fix' that was recently released, that was meant to open files to get essential information and then close them, but to no avail.  Interestingly, I've tried to open more than 137 indd pages within Indesign, but it then denies access to any more files.

Now, I suppose I could make two books and join them together through altering the spine/manifest etc but it seems that this is going to be a bit of a problem for large designed books, not just children's books, where fixed layout is important.  It woud be so much better if the entire workflow could be handled within Indesign.  As it is there is still a lot of work to be done in Dreamweaver to change each page after export.

If anyone has found a solution to this, I'd be grateful if you would share it.

Many thanks

Jack
