Crashing Continues

INDesign crashes on me constantly, both CC and IND6. I don't mean 2-3 times on start-up, I mean repeatedly every single time I use it.

On an iMac, 10.8.4, have turned off all fonts except system ones, preferences are all set to default, brand new download and upgraded! And CC continues to Crash. IN6 crashed on me incessantly also and I tried every single patch and every single upgrade and every single piece of advice. Now CC is even worse. I worked on a file and crashed 32 times in a six hour span. Not kidding, wish I were. There is no rhyme or reason…takes 6-7 tries to get started (hangs, crashes on start-up every single time I open it). The  crashes when completely arbitrarily - the only thing that is constant from one crash to the next are my hot tears on the keyboard.

OK, what could be making this happen to SOME users and not all? I see rants and calm posts and please for mercy and updates here, but no answers that seem to work across the board. What could be the commonality?

My favorite responses are those who shame us for trusting in the program and actually having the audacity to USE IT and not using 5.5 until CC12 comes out. I love bright, shiny new and love enjoying the new stuff that updates offer, so I jump in and use 'em. I know it probably makes sense to not use the new versions when they first come out…but I want to see the new stuff.

Is there anything that can be done? I have spent hours on the phone with tech support and they could not figure out the issue. Ideas? Suggestions? Now it has become a personal challenge, as if IND-CC is taunting me and laughing at me.

Thank you for any ideas.

Kathy
