Strange? Toolbar for text frame columns non present?

Using Adobe InDesign CS. While in training, I saw a field in the uppper toolbar that allowed one to add a specific number of columns within a frame if the user indicates a number in that field.

When I select text box, there is no such a toolbar at the upper screen to divide text box to more columns so it seems my version does not seem to have this. I'm wondering if this is a feature that I need to download a plug-in for or if I need to find it within the system I already have.
