Wrong numbering notes

Hi

I have a large MS Word text in which all notes start at note figure 1 in each chapter. When I import the text in Indesign only the first note figure of my book is 1 (all the other chapters start counting from the last note figure of the previous chapter). Is there a way to start at note figure 1 at the beginning of each chapter in Indesign like it does in Word?
