%OD Added to Hyperlinks

When I create a hyperlink in InDesign CS6 and paste the URL (from excel or notepad) into the hyperlink URL box, %OD is added onto the hyperlink, thereby rendering it useless. For example,

http://www4.uwm.edu/schedule/syllabi/213246015.pdf shows up as

http://www4.uwm.edu/schedule/syllabi/213246015.pdf%OD

Any ideas for what I can do differently to fix this? thanks
