I was sent an image as an RGB jpg file that I wanted to use in a print. I opened it up in Photoshop and converted it to CMYK and saved. Then I needed to make all the pure white in it magenta (for our printer to be able to print it in white). So I select the pure white using magic wand and 'select similar' option. I make a new solid colour layer typing in C=0 M=100 Y=0 K=0. I then select both layers and apple E to merge. I then save this file as a high quality jpg.
To get it in the design I want I place it as an image in a compound path in InDesign. Here is the problem - I use the colour picker to check that the magenta is magenta, and it is not - it has 0.3% yellow in it.
Could someone tell me where I have gone wrong or where the setting is that I need to change... ?
Thank you so much in advance.
