How to release an anchored object/graphic in Indesign CS6

I am using CS6 InDesign and there are 4 images in a table but anchored in the cell and attached to the copy in another cell. How do I release the object? I tried going to Object/Anchored Object/ and the "release" is grayed out? What to do??
