InDesign Crashes when Exporting to PDF

I'm aware this is a common problem, but I can't seem to make any of the solutions I've found work for my specific situation.

I have an Adobe InDesign CS6 book that I'm working to export to PDF. Ideally, I should be able to hit export and have it all work, but it crashes the program. Here are some of the things I've tried:

Restarting InDesign

Restarting Computer

Deleting Images

Deleting Content

Deleting Master Pages

Exporting Single Chapters

Exporting Single Pages

I'm fairly confident it has nothing to do with my fonts or my images, because I have been able to export select pages with the font that I'm using, and I have been able to export pages with both .jpg and .png images. I was able to export one page at a time by fiddling around with the Master Pages.

My current theory is that it's placing items from the left page into the "overflow" portion on the right. When I view a page that starts on the right, the footer extends all the way left as if there was supposed to be a page there.

The best I can figure is that the error is with the Master Pages. If I delete all the items from the Master Page, it seems to export without a problem.
