Text variables from a spreadsheet

I'm working on a church bulletin that will be printed each week with only minor changes. For instance, each week the song names, hymnal page numbers, and sermon title will change. The pastor is pretty organized and has a lot of this content planned pretty far in advance. I'd like to organize this information in a spreadsheet that he can edit, and then have InDesign pull text contained in various cells into the story at various points. For instance, in the following image the page numbers, song reference and Scripture reference would be populated from the spreadsheet.

Ideally I could change one variable within the document, like date (which appears on the cover), have all the other text update appropriately based on text within cells in a given row in the spreadsheet, and then export a pdf (manually is fine) for each week. Or even better have the ID document generate pages based on the number of entries in the spreadsheet and then I just export the pages that matter for each week. Is this possible in InDesign without a custom script? If so, how? Thanks in advance!

Peter
