Page Numbers Incorrect: 1.1 Instead of 1

Hey,

I have a document where I want automatic page numbers, so I followed the instructions: Type > Insert Special Character > Markers > Current Page Number

But instead of just displaying the page number it shows 1.1 on page 1, 1.2 on page 2, 1.3 on page 3 etc. I think you can see where this is going.

So how can I get rid of this 1.(actual page number)?

So far I haven't been able to find anything about this online, and I hope you guys can help me.
